Yup - first appeared on the 75, which has "[a] new crossover pipe and larger exhaust outlets". This (or something similar) became the Performance Active Exhaust option, which is standard on the R-S.

Interesting. I believe my 175 had the resonators. I love this forum the members are the best.

That's because the 175 had the standard XKR exhaust - as you & I have discussed (lamented) in previous threads, you guys were robbed of the performance mods that the 75 got. The 175 is 'just' a Speed Pack with some extras (the quotes are to indicate that an XKR Speed Pack is no clunker).

I think Jaguar options these cars to maximize there margins. Can you believe the bright pack is a $4,000 option on the XKR-S when my car came standard with that option with the dynamic pack (polished Vulcan wheels included)?
I can't wait to drive it to compare it to my sold 175.

The XKR175 is powered by a supercharged V8 with 510hp and 461 lb-ft of torque and top speeds raised to an electronically-limited 174mph. To ensure that the XKR175 remains stable at high speeds, a revised aerodynamic package incorporates a new front air dam, new side sills, a new rear diffuser and a larger rear spoiler providing increased balance and a reduction in lift. New 20-inch Kasuga 10-spoke alloy wheels, red brake calipers and Ultimate Black exterior paint adorn the car's exterior. Inside, door sill tread plates reading "XKR175 - 1 of 175" greet the driver and passenger while the leather is finished in Warm Charcoal with Cranberry stitching, all accompanied by Piano Black wood veneer.
The model is based on the XKR Speed Pack that's available in Europe
I don't have access to Topix, but I do have the build spec for my car - will PM it to you, for interest.

The new cat is in my garage. I need to get it washed and registered before I take it out for a prowl.
The wrap job has some bubbles which I need to address.
The exhaust does sound different from the 175. It sounds a little more exotic. Overall I'm pleased with the car. The Ivory seats are going to be a pain to keep clean but they give the car a refined classic look.

Thanks Ryan. Back at you brother for dealing with your chirp issue. I would have lost it. I would not have had the patients.
I also have the bright pack, which is a $4,000 option on the XKR-S, can you believe it. Jaguar charges $4,000 on the XKR-S to finish the car with the bright pack which was standard on my car. What the hell...

If I knew you where serious about the car I would have let you or any other member have it. I really never enjoyed dealing with the sales manager. On the other hand, Ken, the salesman was great.
I'll have the car for sale in about 2 years. I only drive my cars about 3,000 miles/year and take exceptional care of them. File me away and send me a pm in about 20 months. I'd love to sell it to you. For now I'm going to enjoy looking after it for you.

Don't want to spoil things for you but I think your missing an exhaust clamp on the Driver's side Catalyst where it connects to the mid-pipe. Might want to look into that.
On another note if that is the stock exhaust I find it very interesting Jaguar uses an X mid pipe and deletes the resonators for the XKR-S exhaust.

When I picked up the car I checked it out before the carrier lowered it. Both claps are on the front exhaust. The picture is very deceiving. The band is bolted on the opposite side from the direction of the picture and you can't see it. This was one of the first things I checked for.
