Default 02 xkr fuel pumps replace help

Hi Folks,

Ready to change out the two fuel pumps in my 02 xkr. Car will not start and have checked all fuses, etc. There is a good utube on a replacement here:
that is fairly straight forward. Would like to know if any others in forum have tackled this job. I have a lift which will make it easier for me at 75 and do all my own work on this and my 89 xjs, etc. So, before I do, what say You ??

Thanks,
Ken in Wild and Wonderful WV..... by golly !!

If you're certain its the fuel pumps, its not that bad of a job. You'll have to disconnect the fuel lines at the tank from underneath. Once you do that, take the trunk/boot trim out to access the fuel tank. You'll need to disconnect the fuel filler neck bowl from the body. Disconnect the connector for the fuel pumps and EVAP hoses. Release the straps that hold the fuel tank in the way, and you should be able to pull the tank back far enough to access the flange on top. You shouldn't have to completely remove the tank, just enough to tilt it back and remove the flange. Then take the flange off, replace the pumps, and reassembly. Word of advice, replace the seal on the top for the flange. If that ends up leaking, you'll have to pull the tank back out to change it. Just hope this is your problem as to why its not starting.
