Hi Everyone, Im reaching out in complete desperation as my local dealer has thrown their hands up at repairing my baby with 160k pampered miles. The power train is still in amazing condition and I swear you couldnt even tell whether or not the vehicle was running since the car ran so quiet up to this point. I was driving on the highway and started seeing smoke coming out from under the dash. The whole car started going haywire with windshield wipers running and every message known to man popping up on the dash. I was luckily able to pull over into a parking lot literally 5 seconds before the car completely shut down. I put a voltmeter to the battery and got a very faint reading, so I immediately replaced it. The next step was to find where the smoke came from and it let me right to the CJB. Sure enough, it was scalded. The dealer stated that they could not locate an original part to replace it. I was able to locate a CJB taken out of another 07 XK that matched all the way around. We installed it and the dealer is saying that they cant get my XK to take the programming and I am simply out of options. They are basically telling me to tow it to the scrap yard. Ive had this car for 15 years and I can't just let it go. Everything else is running so perfectly on it and the top and exterior are still in showroom condition. Please help save my baby from this death sentence.

 

Looking at the electrical schematic there is some electronic module on the CJB. Does the car power up (central display) when you open the door. What about wiring to and from the CJB - any wire melt discoloration going to and from the unit? Are the fuses all ok?

 

There's another guy in here restoring a Flood Car. All the wiring and modules and such to be replaced. Maybe search for that, shouldn't be very far down the feed.

 

dealer isn’t going out of their way to struggle with this. i think the easiest way to do it just configure the cluster as new and you will force your way into immo setup. vin will always mismatch unless virgin

or just call the guys who deal with wallet rover cjbs and have it cloned on the bench or virgin program as new
