Default 08 Portfolio good deal

2008 Jaguar XKR , $35,350 - Cars.com

This 08 Portfolio sold for $107,000. Only 138 inported to US. They are asking $35,900, with 30,000 miles. I don't think this the seller understands that this was a special model. I did not look to see if there is a carfax.

I'm probably overly optimistic in thinking that my 2008 XKR Portfolio will be worth more than that when I'm ready to sell. For those of us who are lucky enough to own one, it is hard to understand why more people do not share our love for this car and would be willing to pay top dollar to own one.

I'd definitely look it over. It looks like it as all of the "gee whiz" good accessories. The Alcons, the Technology package (Front radar) etc. Get the Vin and research the accessories. The mileage is very good, the asking price is in the ballpark, at least for my thinking. I paid $38 for 42K miles and didn't have the tech package.

Ok, please forgive my ignorance here.... what exactly is the difference between an XK Portfolio and an XK? I've always assumed the Portfolio was an XKR without the forced induction, but with all the standard goodies that the XKR comes with standard.
Of course, making an assumption always makes a *** out of you and mption (quote from Sam Jackson).

The Portfolio is a special package. An XK ca be supercharged (R) and not be a Portfolio version. It includes special interior treatments, accessory packages etc.

Two significant packages
The Largest calipers and rotors (ALCON)
Dual color stitching, special door sill emblems, choices of wood or metal interior treatments. Do the research. The technology is neat too! You have it

Don't forget the milled aluminum side vents - unique to the Portfolio model and very expensive. Plus the interior is all leather - seats, dash, door panels, console, etc. - as well as leather-edged floor mats. And exclusive exterior colors and wheels. 2008: Celestial Black and Cremona wheels / 2009: Shadow Gray and Selena wheels. All these unique bits and pieces contributed to the higher price of this rare top of the line model.

So, it would therefore appear that the pre-upgrade 2007-2009 portfolios are what followed in the newer 2010+ cars (except for the Alcons and gills), at least in the XKR. Of course, I have no idea what accoutrements in my specific car are stock or special order.
Thanks all, now I have a better grasp of the whole deal.

Well, you can always pull the VIN number. You can lear a lot from it.
I have an original 2008 dealer brochure coming that covers both the XK and the XK-R series. So, I'll know more after it arrives.
