Default 11 years old & Concours Winner!

2007 XK convertible (Build date 03/06) 114,000 miles. BRG with caramel interior. Just won 2nd place in JCNA sanctioned Concours D' Elegance. Lost to 2011 model. Just goes to show the durability and reliability of modern Jaguars if maintained in accordance with factory service book. Car looks and drives like new!

Yes. Driven. Maybe next time I'll try Championship but those cars are "Garage Queens" trucked to the event and rarely taken out for a spin.

I'm a little surprised to hear that. Up here in the PNW there are plenty of owners who compete in Championship Class but who drive their cars to the event, often hundreds of miles. That might be something that varies from region to region. The JCNA concours system actually encourages it, as underbody and suspension are not judged.

Years ago I won a Regional 1st place in Championship Class with my *daily driver* XJ6. It can be done, but it's quite a commitment.

Anyhow I would recommends stepping up to Championship Class. It forces you to take even better care of your car and is lots of fun....and on a late model car such as yours it would be primarily a matter of lots of extra cleaning. Correctness and authenticity wouldn't be much of an issue.

Your car looks fabulous, by the way

Cheers

Same here. Most Champion class cars are driven in. A few E-Types are trailered in. One XK150 was trailered in also because the highway route in for him was under mass construction.... Just concentrate on your engine compartment and you'll be ok. You can download the score sheet off the JCNA website to see what you're in for. We just had ours last month. I didn't enter but I did win Display Only for 1990 and up. Great fun.

Congratulations on your win! Just curious as to why you showed your car with the top up. Was it raining a bit?

Default Yes it rained

Yes. It was raining off and on in the morning. Made everyone crazy. No sooner did we finish drying the cars and wiping them down with detail spray than it would rain again. Finally stopped shortly before "rags down."
