I know because I just had this happen to me on a 2015.
Too much gas will foul the plugs, and dumping fuel into the cats can kill them. Best not to run it too much.

Have they put the diesel into the wrong tank? Have a good smell at your filler cap. You might be able to detect 50% diesel. Take a sample from the car for analysis unless the garage accepts responsibility. Make sure you retain proof of purchase of your fill-up. Pay a visit to the garage and see what they say and tell them you have retained a sample.

only proof I can find is the credit card statement saying date, amount, and that it was a BP and the location. I’m hoping that is enough….

If it were my car, it would be in the shop by now... most probably to learn its an easy fix.
Or, continue the entertainment of guessing what is the issue...

Its been in the shop for 2 days.... As if I'm just sitting here staring at it in the garage crying. The actual issue was bad gas acquired Thursday night and the problem was noted Friday morning before a 12 hour work day. Those videos above were taken with my pops on Saturday morning. Monday it took 3 hours to get it towed to shop. They listened to it and said nah sounds like injectors. I drove to the gas station monday night and noted all high test pumps closed down. When I asked why they said - bad pumps.... I said "are you sure its not bad gas too my cars injectors are screwed?" The reply was to call Englefield oil as that was happening to many many cars as well! Was on the phone all morning with Englefield oil company today and they started a claim with their insurance company based off my knowledge of pump/octane/price/and my records. BP called and said if anything does not go according to my liking call us as well. Gas sample drawn from tank shows significant water contamination and layer of fluids. Quote is 7000 to have the tank dropped, cleaned, re-installed and sealed - 8 new injectors and 8 new spark plugs as well.

Awesome, you just scored a complete fuel system service paid for by the fuel company

Open up your oil filler neck and take a big sniff. If you smell petrol, it's a stuck injector.

Wow. Good that you were able to trace it back to the gas station. What a mess!

The oil company’s insurance carrier finally agreed to pay for the repairs:

1- drop the tank, remove the contaminated fuel and clean the tank. Replace fuel pump, fuel filter, and seal. Re-install the tank

2- flush the lines out

3- 8 new injectors

4- 8 new spark Plugs.

5- many hours of labor

Hopefully…. All this works 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Luck really. After dropping the car off I drove out to the gas station and saw the pumps were shut down… I immediately knew 🤯🤯

Would it not be too much to ask for an engine oil and filter change also?
since the injectors were trying to pump gas and water into the engine.
A compression test of all cylinders to confirm no liner, ring wear, and or valve damage to the engine?
Engine oil test?
Monitor cat condition and record data after the fuel system cleaned, and the options of adding cat replacement to the bill at a future data if unreasonable failure in the future.

You have the video of the engine noise(s)

"BP called and said if anything does not go according to my liking call us as well.

So the water dropped out of the fuel and settled overnight. The start in the morning was more water than fuel.

By replace fuel pump! Do you mean the one in the tank only? There is no fuel filter, there is a sock over the fuel tank pump suction strainer.
Sounds like the usual standard water in the fuel go to procedure for a normal petrol engine contamination issue.

You have a AJ133S
Which is a D.I engine with a very high pressure pumps. Worth inspecting for scoring etc. If sitting with water internally for weeks while this work is done.

By someone who knows what they are doing.
