'12 XKR Vert outside noise w/top up
I've only put approx. 300 miles on my '12 XKR Vert so far, and I've never had a rag-top before, so I'm not sure if there's an issue with my car or if this is normal; with the top up, the outside noise I hear is louder coming from the passenger side than from the driver's side. I've inspected the top and window seals (inside and outside) along the entire passenger side and cannot see any gaps, etc. that are different from the driver's side. The noise seems to be coming from somewhere closer the rear window than the front.
Has anyone had this problem? Any input is appreciated; thanks.

P.S. I'm not referring to wind-noise, I mean the noise of everything outside the car, even while sitting still. Also, YES, I did a search prior to posting this. I only found threads referring to wind/tire noise and improperly sealed windows, which don't apply to this issue.

Did you sit in the passenger seat to figure this out, or does it SEEM louder from the driver seat? I notice no difference whatsoever in mine, but I've had many convertibles in my day.
If you remain in the driver seat, most of the ambient noise would enter through the canvas above your head, while the noise from the passenger area of the canvas would be more inline with your ear holes.
Maybe sit in the middle (or close to it) and have someone walk around your car with a noisemaker of some sort.

I don't hear any unusual noise but can you describe what kind of noise you are hearing. I usually don't drive with the top up but a few months ago on our yearly run to friends down in Pa. we drive on interstate highways and at 70-80 MPH the car was relatively quiet. No excessive wind noise and nothing from the windows. As for mechanical or vibration or creaking we had nothing.Maybe if you give us a little more of a description we can sort it out. This is my 1st convert. in 40 years but it's pretty quiet from my perspective.

It almost sounds like the back of the top is not locking down so the seal is made. With the top up see if you can slide a piece of paper under the back where the top fits against the body. Also reset the windows by using the procedure discribed by others on this form.
