You're just like me stock is never good enough.. My car just turned 3k miles and I started modifying it before I took delivery

I agree with you on the limit of the vette with the mods that are available you can have a GT3 spec car sitting in your garage in a week. I'm actually leaning towards a C6 Z06 for a track car as track used cars are at a decent price range and parts are easy to come by.

This thread has adopted a performance car flavour. Most performance or track oriented cars mentioned here are just that track focused cars with real comprises in street quality. I have a new 2014 GTR and it is a completely different animal than the Jaguar XK/XKR/XKR-S. On the track the GTR is king on the street the Jag is king. Where do you drive your car the most? I have the GTR only because I got a super good deal on it through my business. The GTR is a beast and is fun to experience every now and again. The Jag is a real pleasure to own and enjoy all the time on the street. If a GTR approached me in my Jag on the street being aggressive, I'd bow down. If I where in my GTR in a Jag XK pasted me going the other way I'd turn my head with envy because it is just so much of an all around enjoyable street performer.

The XK/XKR/XKR-S do not compete with most sports cars mentioned. On the GT side it can be cross shopped with the cars that have a back seat, including the GTR, to a very limited degree. Most people who buy a GTR emphasize performance and most people who buy the XK emphasize an all around street performer considering quality of ride, quality of interior etc. as well as raw performance.
