Default 2 mufflers instead of 1-piece rear box set-up?

instead of buying an expensive aftermarket rear section for our cars (2007 xkr), has anyone gone the route of 2 aftermarket performance mufflers instead? it would theoretically be far cheaper and result in the same benefits. it could be done between 400-600 bux, including labor. has anyone gone this route? tnx.

This is what I setup on my car. You could do it all in aluminized steel for this price and use some cheaper mufflers. If you want it all in stainless it will run a little more. A fair amount of expense goes to the tips, so you could either cut off the factory ones and reuse. I think the split tips usually range from 150-300 a piece depending on vendor.
I highly recommend doing a system in stainless as these are well deserving cars

awesome, tnx! do you recall roughly what the muffler measurements were? I think I will go with some polished mufflers with stainless pipes. i'm looking to find the mufflers that produce the least amount of drone too.

I tried it and car was a dog, I did not even want to drive it after that and I am now $600 lighter in the wallet. There was not enough back pressure and XK drove like crap. I would not suggest such a change...

You want to stainless baffled like new mufflers? Come by my house; all yours...
