Default 2007 antenna alternative

I've read posts about alternatives for the huge and noisy whip antenna on the 2007's but they all have some downsides.

Has anybody tried replacing the satellite radio (or GPS?) trunk mounted antenna with a shark fin? From what I've read, a shark fin can supply signals for all the radios.

I've never heard that before.... My first reaction is "Not likely", but then I haven't worked with antennas since the mid eighties, so my knowledge today is minimal. Any links?

i pulled the fuse on my 07 so the antenna no longer goes up, it's ugly i think. Radio and sat nav, etc all work fine. I intend to remove the antenna holder and get it filled and sprayed sometime soon. You can get a marine antenna and connect it to the original and hide it in the boot. Just pull the fuse if you don't want it up, after a while you'll not even remember ii was there, everything still will work.
As far as i can remember it's fuse 4 , 10 amp, just does antenna. Located between the rear seats, just pull out centre part between rear seats and you see the fuse box, then pull the fuse.
Another thing you can do when there is pull fuse 19, seems to be the common thing to do now , it leaves your exhaust valves open all the time, great noise, gives the car a deeper roar all the time, will not damage anything, if you feel it's to loud just pop fuse back in.

AM radio does not seem to work after removing the antenna fuse. FM radio reception also seems diminished.

Works fine for me to. Signal strength is diminished, but the stations I normally listen to are fine. It's going to be hard to match the antenna power of a 4' mast!

After Removal of the fuses for antenna and exhaust valves, the radio became so irrelevant as the sound of the exhaust was far more interesting to listen to as the radio.
In my case the important radio stations, preferably FM, were still on air on my radio.

Default Shark Fin

This is the type of shark fin antenna that I'm wondering about, as a replacement for the antenna on the rear deck:
Beat-Sonic® - Shark Fin Antennas

However, I'll try pulling the fuse first.

all my fm stations work well, althought i have the window down most days to listen to the exhaust making music, o ya
Never liked them antennas on the boot lid, just dosn't look the part, hidden in the boot spoiler or a roof antenna is in my view better.

Wow... Goes to show ya..... Since I pulled my fuse, I have never turned on my radio! No clue what I get for reception!

I know 4.2 on the FM (Floored Motor) sounds sweet to me!

Try to photoshop the fin on a picture of your jag and you'll see how ugly it looks.

Pulling the fuse is the better idea!

Right. Looks like the Batmobile with a fin.

I pulled the fuse. All is good.

The fuse 19 trick only works for the XKR.
