2007 Convertible Top Reset - A Few Lessons Learned
#21
Not exactly. The X150 was introduced in Europe as a 2006 model and in North America as a 2007 model. Yes, it's confusing - production year, registration year, model year. Read this thread for clarification:

What I ran into doing the convertible top reset procedure
The top on my 2008 XKR recently stopped working. Following the Service manual procedure to remove the motor and the good advice about the motor in the XK100 forum, I was able to determine that the motor was at fault and not the hydraulic pump. I removed the motor and left the pump in place. Had the motor rebuilt locally for $120 and reinstalled everything. However, I suspect that because I started the engine while the top motor was disconnected, the top failed immediately after unlatching from the windshield header and would not open. After double and triple checking my work, I went back to this forum and stumbled upon several threads that talked about the top reset procedure. I found the procedure the User manual and began. However, after releasing the hydraulic pressure at the pump allen screw, I was unable to move the top by hand, I made several attempts with no luck. Reread the procedure in the manual and began again, this time without a hitch. I suspect that after releasing the pressure at the valve, it took a minute or two before the pressure was actually released. Don't know if others have run into this but thought it might help someone in the future.
