2007 Rear "lift gate shelf"
Been searching for this, could not find anything about it, so I am sure I am just calling it by the wrong name....
I am talking about the rear trunk "shelf" that is removable, that attaches to the lift gate itself.....
Mine will not stay secured and in place for more than a day. Is this a common problem and are there recommended fixes by chance?
Thanks guys

I recall seeing a thread about this, some time ago, with some DIY fixes. Try searching, its here somewhere, maybe try 'package shelf'.
Edit: Found it ("parcel shelf").

Here is what I wound up doing:
1. Remove shelf and bring it into your house
2. Remove each clip/stalk from all four corners
3. Now you have a hole in each corner [this is good]
4. Get 4 zip ties and go back to the car
5. Slip the zip ties through the holes of the shelf and through the hole of the trunk lid for each corner
6. Firm up the zip ties. Problem solved.

Problem solved !!!
I had a good look at these plastic dowels and realise they have a rubber expandable washer sleeve which grips the hole when the plastic levers are pushed flat and can be adjusted with the plastic nut to make them grip more. Now I worked out how the dowels are designed to work the shelf stays in place as it should. The previous owner of my car had the same problem as there was tape around the plastic dowels and I expect many owners glue the fixings, not realising a small adjustment is all that is needed.
Free fix and no glue required.
Hope this helps.
