Your goal is to replace the CJB so this will be a service option, but yes it's always good to run diagnostics first. SDD will tell you if there is a circuit issue and it will also let you view the guide to drill down on that issue so it could guide you to a relevant relay.

Regarding the battery back up. It's been covered ad nauseam here. You want something that will give you 13.1 volts steady and low noise. For something as big as swapping out a CJB, invest in one. I use the Astron RM50 But you should be able to get by with a 25 amp. Check out eBay. Don't use another car. Jaguar advises against ever connecting to another car unless absolute emergency. Connecting to another car can damage your engine harness if left on too long.

@ Kevin, did you find the issue?
My keyless entry have the same problem. The FSJB don't work anymore.
The third Jaguar found the faile, its worse.
