Hello Jag owners, I recently bought a 2007 XKR, and noticed a potential issue with the touchscreen this morning.
For whatever reason, the screen will not change off of the Jaguar logo, no matter what I have tried. I was wondering if this is a simple fix, or if the battery needs replacement. I have also now noticed that because the screen is stuck, the backup sensors, audio, radio, and all other features related to the touchscreen dont function.
Thanks-Steve

Reason: Additional info
Check your battery I had the same issues which a simple restart would correct but other glitches were happening not just with the touchscreen and after I put in a new battery no more issues!
Maybe not only a new battery, but CHARGE IT. Even if you get a new battery, CHARGE IT before you use it. With a good charger, not a trickle or maintainer.

Hey SpartanBadger - check your battery voltage in the morning when the car has been resting a bit. It needs to read at least 12.6 volts minimum. Not 12.5 or 12.4 but 12.6 at the terminals resting (car off) If it's not, replace it. If you don't have a voltmeter, drive to the auto parts store and they will load test it at no cost.
When replacing, have the auto parts store charge it over night so you are ensured a fully charged battery. They sit on shelves and lose their initial charge. If voltage is 12.6 or higher, charge is not your issue.
You might also try a hard reset. This is done by disconnecting both negative battery cable and then positive cable. Hold the two cables together and that will discharge all the capacitors in the system.
Also you say "No matter what I've tried". Can you elaborate on what you did?
It's the battery. One of the first signs on my 2007 XKR when the battery is not happy, next will be traction control off will no longer be off when selected.
