Default 2007 XKR Valley Hose Replacement 2023

Hi everyone

I thought I would document the list of parts that I used for the valley hose replacement on our cars so that others have the latest 2022/2023 part numbers as we all know these parts are sometimes superseded etc…

The reason for replacement was not that the old hoses we leaking, it was more for peace of mind as I was becoming mindful that the car is 15 years old, it only has 36000 miles but age was the driving factor in wanting to feel confident they would not leak anytime soon. My car is an early car with VIN ending 12***. Also please check to make sure these numbers are still valid, it should be a starting point for anyone and I make no promises that they will fit your car, only Jaguar can confirm this for you.

Some parts mentioned will be considered by some to be overkill, and that there was really no reason for replacement. For me, if I am in there and I remove a component with a gasket/o-ring, that gasket/o-ring will need to be replaced where possible as I do not want to strip it all down for a $10 gasket. The two places where I could find no part numbers available would be the MAF sensor o-ring and also the vacuum take off to the servo, both connected to the throttle body elbow, so far the car seems happy.

Here is the list:-

AJ811064 – Block to EGR hose
AJ811063 – Throttle Body to EGR hose
AJ811062 – Block to Throttle body
AJ811638 – coolant manifold to block hose
AJ87246 – Upper EGR pipe gasket
AJ88560 – EGR to throttle body gasket
KSC137624 – Bypass valve housing to throttle elbow
C2C11477010 – Coolant manifold seal x2
AJ83292 – Supercharger to throttle body elbow gasket
NCC7735BA – Supercharger outlet seal
AJ86925 – Supercharger to charge cooler seals x2
C2C37055 – Supercharger drive belt
C2C37063 – Main engine drive belt
AJ89646 – Supercharger coolant filler seal

I did also have to buy a new bolt to hold the EGR valve to the throttle body elbow as I managed to damage the Torx head beyond further use (it was very tight). These are M6 x 55mm bolts and I just picked them up from McMaster Carr, I think they were called buttonheads.

General notes and observations:-

Remove the hood is a must, it would have been infinitely more difficult to complete the job with it in place

I did not think the job was overly difficult, it was frustrating at times but if you follow the steps in the service manual you will not go wrong. There were a couple of instances where I felt a shortcut was acceptable and that was the removal and installation of both drive belts, one, the other or both required the car to be jacked up and the belly pan removed for access to the tensioner, removing the hood helped this as you can just reach down from the front.

The Supercharger belt that I received was the correct circumference but it was ribbed on both sides, almost like 2 belts were placed back to back and then bonded together. Due to this extra thickness I had to slacken off the belt tensioner and pull it forward to slide the new belt around it.

There seems to be some concern that parts for our cars are becoming scarce, however I never once ran into an issue with supply which was good.

I did change the oil in the supercharger whilst it was off, the old oil was quite dirty so I was happy to replace it with new.

I purchased the majority of parts from Harper Jaguar in Tennessee, good prices and excellent service, I did not expect all the parts to be off the shelf so it took about a week for them to ship out to me. Some of the smaller gaskets I had overlooked came from my local JLR dealer, again 1-2 days to get them in so pretty good.

I connected up the battery yesterday and bled the cooling system and took the car for a drive today and no faults/issues noted

I hope this will help someone in the future and if anyone has questions or if I have missed something please ask.

Nice write up. I did that work three years ago, also replaced water pump and all tensioners in front of engine. I saw no need to remove hood myself.

Not to hijack your thread, but if someone wants to do water pump and all tensioners in front at the same time, I found there's a sequence to removing and replacing, because there's not a lot of room, so I took the opportunity to show parts and sequence below.

Looking at this being done by the local Jag dealer - none of the gaskets, o-rings were included in a recent quote for a little over $4K which
is somewhat surprising.

I had this done a few months ago on my 5.0, plus four direct injectors, the supercharger isolator, supercharger oil, complete coolant change (Evans Waterless), water pump inspection (it was superb, and a belt replacement. All-in was just over $6k including tax. That was from an independent import specialist. Your 4k was Canadian, right? That's 3k US.
Just some info for you.

Ya, 4k Canadian CeeJay. I just emailed them with some questions re seal and gaskets. Also whether I need to replace the outlet pipe in the pic below. If that part is metal I don't see the need to replace it. I know on the later models plastic parts have been used

Re previous post - that outlet pipe is aluminum. It's actually the thermostat housing (I requested they change the thermostat) - why they would think it needs replacing I dunno - maybe they thought I have a plastic one like they used on the non supercharger model. Not feeling confident now with these guys.

Found a vid on youtube on removing the supercharger on the X100 - I didn't think the throttle body needed to be removed to get a one of the supercharge bolts.

Looks like the guy is working on the side of the road lol.
