I have an Audi A8 that was having an electrical burning smell when the blower was on. The Indy shop replaced the blower and something else, no luck. I posted the specific issue on an Audi forum , had two possible diagnoses in 2-3 hours, took it back to the shop and they rather sheepishly confirmed one of them was the issue, mentioned that they would have looked there dead last after weeks of trying other things first, and replaced the part (auxiliary coolant pump) for free because they charged me for an unnecessary blower.

Moral is, it never hurts to run weird issues by a group of people who are enthusiasts and bring a possible solution with you to the dealer/indy. Worst that will happen is they find it is something else. The Indy I go to is a highly regarded European auto shop been in business pushing 40 years, everyone can learn something new if they haven't seen a specific problem before!

Glad your car is working again! That has to be a major load off your mind! Congrats!

Moderators, please mark this resolved for future reference. Thanks for closing it out dibbet.

Does anyone know what causes the Aux box to just fail. I know it's not common and the CJB usually has corrosion when it goes bad but don't see how that happens in the AJB. Just curious.
