2008 XKR Battery Change
Hi All,
I am going to change the 6 year old battery on my elderly neighbors 2008 XKR. It looks pretty straight forward besides removing the luggage compartment cover. Any suggestion on how to do that with out damaging it?
He also has a problem with his roof not closing all the way but with research on this forum I have several things to check first.
I have to say the early X150 seems a little harder to work on compared with my 01 XKR but that is just probably familiarity.
Have a good weekend.

Some people use a couple of 2x4s on the floor to help skid the old battery out and new one in. I just lifted them out/in and had no problems (and I’m old).
I put a little silicone grease on the terminals after installing to prevent oxidation. You’ll have to reset the parking brake so follow the pop up on the binnacle message console. Some people have to reset the windows too I think. See the drivers manual.
I know nothing on resetting the top to close.
Good deed for your helping your neighbor!

Then just rotate it a bit until you can lift it up and out of its track.
Now follow the procedure in the previous post to remove the cover over the battery and electronics.
Yeah, that battery is a heavy sucker, and not in a convenient location over the rear axel.
