2011 XK Purchase Questions

I am looking at possibly purchasing this XK here:
Cars for Sale: 2011 Jaguar XK Touring in Houston, TX 77010: Coupe Details - 391493632 - AutoTrader.com
A few questions:
Does it look like a good deal to those of you who know these cars better than I do? Am I missing out on a better trim/package by not spending a little bit more?
Thanks,
Matt
Cars for Sale: 2011 Jaguar XK Touring in Houston, TX 77010: Coupe Details - 391493632 - AutoTrader.com
A few questions:
- The trim is listed as "touring" but I don't think that is a real trim level for this car. I'd imagine it is just the base coupe, right?
- The front bumper has a license plate on it (Texas law). I feel like it ruins the look of the front bumper. How are these usually attached, are there going to be holes in the bumper to support it?
Does it look like a good deal to those of you who know these cars better than I do? Am I missing out on a better trim/package by not spending a little bit more?
Thanks,
Matt

I'd go with the 2010 all day long. Take your time and look for some solid deals out there. These cars don't usually sell overnight.....this is a special segment of car buyer.

Yes, absolutely. The only difference being that these cars have many different and more electronic components and sensors then your average Chevy. These are going to have issues as the car ages and has thousands of miles on the road. The parts are REALLY EXPENSIVE to replace and may also be labor intensive. Whatever year you purchase, be sure to consider an extended warranty to ensure your Jaguar experience will remain positive.

I think the keys to a successful transaction in buying and XK or XKR consist of at least the following in no particular order:
Decide your budget and what you want
Be patient eventually a vehicle that either matches or approximates what you want will appear on the market
Have the vehicle inspected by an independent Jaguar mechanic or the local Jaguar dealer which should cost less then $200.
Don't be afraid of buying a car from a distant place
Be patient

Thanks guys, I took a step back a bit and started looking some more. I found this car listed that is in the right direction:
Certified Pre-Owned 2011 Jaguar XK For Sale in Fort Lauderdale, Miami Area | P14126
2011, 20k miles, CPO.
A bit above the budget so I am not sure I will pull the trigger on this one right away, but it shows me that better deals are out there for not much more than I am looking at now.

I snagged the 2011 XKR 175 with 18K miles for $45,600 this past December. It still had some original warranty left on it, until Sept '15, but I purchased the extended warranty offered by my local Jag dealer for $3K and it gives me 72 more months, and 100K total miles. Timing is everything, as I found my Cat at a dealer in Chicago that had no hope of selling it for months to come. They couldn't even find anyone to test drive it during the winter.
I've had it professionally detailed since, including a three step paint correction to remove ALL surface scratches and applied the 22PLE glass coating. It looks better than new.

Wow that is a hell of a deal!
I found this car yesterday night that looks like a pretty good price, although no warranty I believe: Used 2011 Jaguar XK Westchester IL J1872P

Thanks for the help and advice everyone.
I made the very difficult decision today to put my Jaguar purchase on hold. I still need a car in the meantime but I am going to get something basic, and revisit the Jaguar in a year or two depending on how things look financially between now and then.
I started out with a 20k car budget looking at used Infiniti G37's. I quickly pushed that budget up closer to 30k to get into the sport/IPL trims.
Then I found the jaguar XK and fell in love, and found myself pushing that budget up again to 40k.
While I technically could have made it work, I think I should save that purchase for when I can do it easily.

mkeys,
I am entering this conversation late, but first, congratulations on not letting your heart overrule your head. Secondly, on my 2002XKR I have approximately 160,000 miles, and it still looks new and runs great. On my 2010XKR, I have near 80K. These cars, with proper care are capable of easily surpassing 200,000 miles, so 50K, provided you have a service history, is NOTHING!
But, by giving yourself some time, you open up many more opportunities to find the right car for you and to test drive some of them.
Good luck.
