2011 XKR Convertible - window whistling on passenger side
Hi All,
New joiner to the forum, and recently purchased a beautiful 2011 XKR Convertible in the US. Had about a c. 20 year gap on Jags as I previously had XK8 Convertibles. Happy to be back on the brand.
One annoying gremlin with the car is the passenger window "whistles" at speed of c. 50mph+. Looks like its the seal between the window and the speaker on the door is loose. That's the seal on the door itself, not the car frame (its frameless round the window on the convertible).
Any idea how to fix this? I'm not very handy but figured I'd ask here before driving down to the Jaguar dealer to take a look.
Didn't see a similar thread on this but if I missed it, would appreciate the redirect.
Thanks and Happy New Year!

Hi, ACD
Welcome to the Forum, and congrats on your 2011 XKR Convertible! I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine. I see from your Public Profile that you joined today and that you don't have a signature that includes details about your and your XKR. I recommend that you read this thread and create a signature that will help us help you.
Please read the guidance for new members:

Where are you located, and where has your XKR been? Your location matters, as the climate can wreak havoc on rubber parts. Your XKR is over 12 years old and the rubber seals have hardened over time. Before going to your Jaguar dealer and doing irreparable harm to your wallet, you might want to try this inexpensive DIY fix:
This product might be able to soften the trim enough to enable you to refit the glass.
DuPont Rubber Saver Gasket Seal Trim Conditioner, 25ml
https://a.co/d/3n1757b
If that doesn't soften it, you might want to try a hair dryer or heat gun, if you have one.
Here's my passenger side trim and glass.
Good luck with your repair and Happy New Year to all!
Stuart

I'm in Charlotte, NC, USA, but the car itself has been in NY and Florida before me (mainly Florida). I can imagine some heat warping the rubber.
I ordered the seal saver so will see how that goes. Really appreciate the recommendation. I also tried the ideas from the other replies but whistling still there. Hoping the seal saver is the way to go. Will report back when I know!
