Default 2012 XK exhaust modification

Hello all, new to this forum and sure this topic has been covered, but. Thinking of changing the stock exhaust system to a quicksilver super sports. My XK is a base model and I understand I will need to change a body part (lower extension?) to make room for the quad tips. Can anyone confirm that the part I will need is "C2P16656XXX" ? Will this just bolt on without any mods when I replace the stock one? Thanks Ron

There are a lot of threads on this subject. I own an XK and wanted the Mina Gallery exhaust. However, after removing my resonator and installing an X pipe I'm quite happy with my exhause tone. Your XKR has two resonators. Perhaps removing both resonators, fuse 19 and installing either a X-pipe or an H-pipe my give you an acceptable exhaust tone. Either way, these modifications would only enhance an aftermarket exhaust.

Cheers

He has a base xk so he needs an xkr box with an xpipe for more action. The diffuser for an xkr is used to accommodate the quad tips

Niiiiiiiiiccceee. Small diameter compression bends. Looks fantastic! I think I'll redo my mandrel bends with compression. Coolest thing I've seen all morning.
Maybe dude didn't want to buy a different valance so he faked the inners? Like kj, I don't get the reason for valves, unless what was there was 'reutilized'.

Quicksilver make nice stuff. One of the handful of premier brands. You'll be happy with it. Friend has one on his AM V12S and it sounds epic.

I think there were two different mods made. The diffuser is after market and the mid pipes are too close for an XKR, so I'm guessing first someone upgraded an XK with an after market exhaust, then the silencer was later deleted leaving the valves. You can see the places where the silencer was cut out. The dummy pipe between the inners is to keep them from twisting.

Looks like a BMW, but that is nearly the worst muffler delete I've seen.

Thanks to @Wm. Lyon , had a X pipe thrown on at a local shop and it is sounding awesome. I'll be pulling Fuse 19 shortly as well.

Glad to hear you're as happy with yours as I am with mine!👍 Did you remove one (or both) of your resonators? Unfortunately, I don't have a #19 fuse to pull.😢😂

Apparently both. The shop did a great job, but their communication was a little difficult to follow.
