2013 XKR out to stretch its legs from the igloo on nice day
I thought I'd let her out to stretch her legs on this nice day. Sooo tempting to just take it out on a real ride; however, with the residual salt and safety gravel on the roads it would not be worth it. So back in the igloo for another month.

I'll be in Scottsdale in 2 weeks. I wish I could take my car with me. In the summer when it's 75% here and 110% in Zonie land I'll be thinking about you. I hope you have cooling seats.

DGL:
A couple of points about your post.
1)I am a big fan of CTEK battery maintainers, but now I realize how the residents of Nova Scotia charge their car batteries.......simply run the electric lines from the power poles to the top of the car.
2). I knew my twin brother was out there somewhere. Us "XKR" brothers are rare and so glad to see that you have found him.
Nice car, nice photos.

Good memory! The old 175 looks good! Same spot in my driveway different XKR. About a year ago. Both cars in the picture the 175 and the G37 have been traded for a 2013 XKR and a 2013 Merc SLK55 AMG respectively.

I am expecting to take my car out of storage on March 8th. Been in the garage with battery tender since beginning of December. Looked at the car once near Christmas, but that's it. I sure hope it starts, tires are fine, and no varmints have constructed a new home in the car.
What a feeling when we take our cars out of storage in the spring. Just like bringing them home new for the first time! I'm sure we're all looking forward to the summer after this crazy winter! Notice the snow plow in front of my garage; came in very handy this winter.

I remembered it because I hadn't had my own XK very long and was enamored by everyone's pictures. I still had it bookmarked.
Now that I have moved out of the city I, too, hesitate to take the car out on these rainy, muddy winter days. In town a quick rub down to dry the rainwater would keep it looking nice, but out here the mud is horrendous.
Oh, well, at least one if my cars is happy

it always boggles me, the way some of you guys have to park your cars up for about 1/3 of a year. Guess I'm lucky enough to live somewhere where it rarely snows. Must be like having your cash locked in a time-locked vault - you know it's there, but you can't use it. I drive mine every chance I get - even planning to drive from London to County Kerry in Ireland (with a little help from Stena Sealink) rather than fly; my other half, being sensible, is taking Air Fungus to Shannon.

Does your department of highways or municipality use winter safety solutions on the roads which are damaging to your car such as salt or traction gravel? I found the traction gravel used here has a sand blasting effect on the paint, especially behind the front wheels. The Jaguar XK is notorious for this road rash problem. OMG, not to mention the mine field of pot holes left from the freezing/thaw cycles. It's worse than like having your cash locked in a time vault because when you open up the vault some of your cash has evaporated from depreciation and I have 3 2013+ $100,000 cars locked in my time vault.
