2013 XKR-S.. should i do it?
Hi All, I'm new to the forums here and i'm sure that some of my questions have been answered on other threads but i'm still in the process of going through a lot of them.
I recently decided it was time to move on from my current car (BMW 3 series coupe) and into something that would put an even bigger smile on my face. I narrowed it down to the XKR and newer F-Type but then came across a listing for a 2013 XKR-S, I absolutely love the look of the car and i had been inn one a couple years back. but is it really worth the money over the XKR? also i should point out im looking for something that i can drive daily and in winter (with winter tires of course) , or would the F-type with its AWD be better suited?

I test drove all versions of the F-type and just could not get overly excited about that model. Not enough to spend my monies on them. The XKR-S, IMHO, is much better looking and much more comfortable and luxurious in the classic GT-mold.
Having said that, I feel that you should get a considerably better price on this particular car as the mileage is unusually high for a high-end XKR-S.

do it. I did this spring and have not regretted a second. Be different. Be noticed. Be happy.
check the carbon fiber closely. Make sure the third brake light works. Don't be afraid of 40K. Mine had that.
not so sure I would do the "year round" in all weather conditions.....

Had another looks and the more i look at it the better in looks, the wheels looks good and the red/black leather, seems to be a bit of curb rash on the bottom of the front splitter from photo , that's all i see.The only thing i'd do is push the wheels out with spacers, get them arches filled, even meaner looking. I'm surprised the xkrs didn't come with side sills and a sweep around rear diffuser like the speed pack xkr, it would have finished off the sides and rear a bit better IMO. Could have been carbon effect like the front,

That's a beautiful looking car.
The AWD f type is a lot different to drive than the RWD. Personally I prefer the RWD. As for f type against XKR, they are completely different cars to drive. The XKR is slightly more suited to life as a daily driver, and is more comfy overall, whereas the tech/audio in the f type (especially the '16 and after models) is better and the steering and transmission are quite different.
Personally I'd go for the XKRS unless you are obsessive about tech and maybe an f type down the track if you like the AWD one.

Nice one! Do it for sure.
I'm one of the people on here who uses my XKR as my daily driver. I also took a look at the F-Type. My thoughts:
There is no way that an F can be a daily driver. The XK's baby-back-seat is a game changer, it doubles your storage space. If I take my girlfriend on a long weekend road trip, somehow we end up using ALL our storage space, trunk and backseat. Wouldn't be possible with the F Type. Plus, the cabin is just roomier and more luxurious for two.
Second thought-- in even a dusting of snow and in winter mode, be ready to use a VERY light foot. There's a lot of low-end torque in that car. I'm from New England originally and I'm pretty sure my XKR couldn't be a year-round daily driver in Boston. And in Canada...?
