Default The 4.2 Engine Cover Dzus Connector

So, a couple of years ago this part flipped off my screwdriver into the engine and the Black Hole of Small Mechanical Parts. Last week, I found it wedged into a heat shield and recovered it.

As I recall, it was a PITA to replace, since I hadn't bought a caliper yet.

So, as a favor to those who've lost theirs, or just want to replace it with something fancier, below are my caliper measurements before I re-install it.

On the left, where the 11 and 10 mm measurements are -- I'm not sure where the measurement point is in the catalogs, so there might be a bit of variation. The shaft length is 21 mm, though.

AND IMPORTANT: These appear to be half-turn heads. I see lots of quarter-turn head in the catalogs.

Oddly, the head may be the most difficult to match. I found some 6mm dia by 21 mm length for around $3 each, but they had a bail type head. If someone is willing to replace all four, there are lots of options available. Southco and Speedyfasteners had the right dia and length, but I didn't look deeply at color and head size/type.

If you want some bling, use the Dzus titanium fasteners. They are standard on the limited edition MV Agusta MC. They are used as quick release fasteners on the fairings so you can pull the gearbox out within 10mins for quick ratio changes on the track.
