Hi!
i just got the supercharger „Torsion Isolator„ Replaced on my 2010 xkr 5.0 because it made a extremely loud noise. Today i heared a slight engine rattle. Its barely noticeable when the hood is closed but im pretty sure that it wasnt there before. I cant tell tho because the Supercharger noise was getting extreme.
Does anybody have a video of how the engine should sound like normally? It would be much appreciated.
The car runs 100% fine (even better then before) but this sound makes me paranoid
EDIT : here is the video on youtube (its not a normal video its a short i don‘t know why i cant change it on the phone)

I will take a video today or tomorrow
I have another question tho. I wanted to change the Oil of the supercharger. I called the nearest Jaguar shop & asked about the oil and they said that this Supercharger uses no Oil which makes absolute no sense to me.

Yeah, find a new shop. There is a Sticky on the top of the X150 page labelled Maintenance, where you'll find this link:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...change-221427/
The 5.0 is a bit tricky to accomplish, but very doable.

The 5 & 3 litre engines are quite noisy as compared to almost any other engine. If the main dealer told you no oil and wanted to sell you a new assembly, they were correct as main dealers do not service superchargers, they only replace new complete assemblies which are supplied prefilled with oil.

They are both GDI - gasoline direct injection - with very high fuel pressure and for that reason both the fuel injectors and high pressure fuel pumps are quite noisy/rattly.
At most one or both of your high pressure fuel pumps (there are two of them low down on the right side of the engine block) are starting to rattle a little more than normal, this is known to happen on some high-mileage engines.

No need to worry about that sound it is perfectly normal for the AJ133 (V8) and AJ126 (V6).

Thats a relief! Thank you very much.
I thought it will get expensive again 😅
