You can check out a post by Bigg Will over on the X250 forum. He came up with a set up that allowed him to sit in the drivers seat and use the throttle while spraying in the cleaner.
Thanks George.
Have a look at where the pipe connects to the intake (marked in pic below)
Mine is extremely loose, or just loosely in there and no clamp. Is yours that way?
BTW, you rubber is cracked too. And you have the same shitty duct tape residue from where they used tape to tie the pipes together. Not easy to be consistency in shoddy work. I always wondered what was by design and not.
Yes Q&C mine is also cracked and falling apart i will be looking to replace them later this year shouldnt be expensive to do so i would imagine . i shall check that hose with red arrow to see if it "is " loose tomorrow at some point and report back PS made in brum
Q&C I went out and checked mine for you and where my hose connects to intake it is definitely NOT loose. There is a nipple that hose pushes onto. I took a close up pic. Just wondering but I was under the assumption that the flow of air was from intake through actuator into TB, so I was thinking fitting would need to be placed on other side of actuator? Your thoughts?
Also as it pertains to the other lines with tape and zip tie, here is a pic of what it should look like. As you can see there is tape over lines with a small holder that clips onto both to hold them in place.
Thanks George.

I wouldn't worry too much about that side of the actuator. The controlling vacuum comes from the other side (after the throttle body). I think this side just provides filtered air to balance the actuator when it operates.

Thanks a million.
I was trying to verify if I had a connector missing...if if there is one missing.... looks like this is the only connection Jaguar does not care if you can pull out by hand.
Yeah definitely downstream from the actuator. I have a couple of questions / concerns.
1. Is that point in the TB behind the throttle plate- if so would we not be upsetting the apple cart (fuel/air ratio). Separately I want to clean throttle plate and throat, i have seen much gain in other cars.
2. Is that vacuum line pulling in enough air all the time. I think so but just checking.

Q&C my hose is not loose ither . nipple in place lol
What's the verdict on using carbon cleaner and engine cleaner to help with the timing chain tensioner problem? Would using the cleaners early to prevent the problem from happening and before the accumulation of carbon and sludge become too severe be advisable, of course, with frequent oil changes. Has anyone been using them on the 5l SC?
