991 TTS 0-60mph in 2.5 sec?
Thought it's interesting how under 3 sec was incredible but now cars are heading towards low to mid 2s to 60MPH. According to Autocar, the 991 TTS should hit 0-60MPH in 2.5 sec which is plausible as the previous 997.2 TTS hit 60mph in 2.7 sec. Can wait to see stock cars going under 2 secs.

So, how low could this quest of lowering 0-60 times go? It is simply unbelievable where it is today.
I remember back, oh, some times in the late 70s or early 80s, I was really proud of my V12 powered Lamborghini doing it in the low 6 sec. range. My good white-water buddy, Randy Louis, at the time was competing in the professional Can Am series with an ultra light, open-top sports racer, powered by an American V8.
Replying to my question as to how quick was his race car, he estimated it to be about 4 sec, 0-60. That sounded simply unbelievable at the time. That was the day when he got pushed off in Turn 5 at Laguna Seca, went over the ARMCO barrier rolled several times down the hill, "all the way to the city of Salinas", as we would later jokingly say. He was hurt but, lived to go on to Indy car racing.
Hmmm.... just wondering how quick an Indy car of today would be 0-60?
