Adaptive Headlights won't adjust high enough! Kid's new XKR
#1
![Question](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Wouldn't you know it, I couldn't check the headlight aiming while checking this car out cuz Only Daytime.
Anyway, the Adaptive part of my son's new 2007 XKR work perfectly well. Only problem, even adjusted up to the limit the light is way too low.
He has to drive to Seattle in a couple days, it'd suck to not see things at 'the speed limit'.
I figure there must be a way in SDD to change the aim, but I don't want to get in there, muck about for an hour, and then NO lights work cuz I don't know what I'm doing in SDD most of the time.
Maybe there's another Manual process for changing the aim? Both sides are identical in the current position.
Also, on my 2010, the adjustments went quick, 1/4 turn made major differences. On his, two complete rotations of the adjusters moved not so much.
I have not checked the rear mounting screw behind the wheel well liners yet.
Any ideas on this, before I dig into it with blinders on?

This was exactly the culprit! The front sensor bracket was bent way up and the sensor was way misaligned, not even within the limiting tabs and the link was horizontal instead of vertical.
We bent the bracket, recentered the sensor arm and hooked stuff up.
WORKS AS ADVERTISED!!!
Thanks, @guy disaster averted!!!

Hi ive not got adaptive, but on start up they go up and down, not side to side, inside my lights the bulb holder/eyeball pivots on an arm and ball joint, it did pop off once, and light was well to low, popped it back on via the side cover, may help ??? Also i believe? front levelling sensor, think drivers side wheel arch in UK is linked to the headlights if you have both headlights matching too low, or headlight control module reflash?

I figure when the engine was replaced the suspension was loose for awhile and when all the brakes were refurbished, it got knocked up. Being knocked up caused the sensor arm to bypass the stop, which caused the connecting arm to over-center. I'm actually surprised the sensor survived.
