I don't understand your question. Which monitor do you mean? Both my factory touchscreen display and my backup camera display are working fine. If you mean how did I install the backup camera display unit, I plugged it into the cigarette lighter socket, folded the wire behind it, and set it into the ashtray at an angle for a snug fit. I was going to use 3M double-sided automotive trim tape to keep it from moving around, but that wasn't necessary.

Your display might not fit in the ashtray if it's not identical to mine.

Sorry to be obscure. I meant the add-on backup screen as you surmised and have answered my question. My monitor fits in the ashtray reasonably well but rattles about a bit. It needs a bit of chewing gum or similar to stop the movement. Something like Blue Tack.

It's obvious that your new backup cam isn't the same as mine. I hope it works out well for you.

As for securing the monitor in your car, I recommend using this 3M tape. It's easily removed by using dental floss.
