Stuart S, glad to see it's still working after 6 years. I bought an almost identical one and fitted it in the same location a couple of days ago. Available on Amazon.co.uk but for some reason not on my local one, Amazon.es. Very good support from manufacturer too. Let's hope mine lasts as long as yours. BTW how have you fixed your monitor?
Cheers,
Above emphasis mine.
Mike,
I don't understand your question. Which monitor do you mean? Both my factory touchscreen display and my backup camera display are working fine. If you mean how did I install the backup camera display unit, I plugged it into the cigarette lighter socket, folded the wire behind it, and set it into the ashtray at an angle for a snug fit. I was going to use 3M double-sided automotive trim tape to keep it from moving around, but that wasn't necessary.
Your display might not fit in the ashtray if it's not identical to mine.

Sorry to be obscure. I meant the add-on backup screen as you surmised and have answered my question. My monitor fits in the ashtray reasonably well but rattles about a bit. It needs a bit of chewing gum or similar to stop the movement. Something like Blue Tack.
The kit I bought has the camera, battery and solar panel all in one. See here:
