Adding Backup Camera to Existing Nav Screen

Adding Backup Camera to Existing Nav Screen
You won't have the same luck with the XK Dan. The XK doesn't use D2B and the screen is different.
The XK uses the MOST fiber optic ring network and GVIF technology to feed visuals to the screen.
See my post here. It tags on to flyc2c's post and is primarily for adding gauges to the screen, but, reverse camera applies.

You'll note that I vacillated between installing the camera to the touch screen or installing a new mirror with reverse LCD display but ultimately stayed with the touchscreen display because I didn't want to lose the auto dimming on the door mirrors.
If you find away around having to go through NAV on the touch screen, you will be the mac daddy of the XK forum.

Sean, I think I just found an interface for the 2007 XK Convertible I just bought. It's Nav-TV out of Florida. The interface is their GVIF-JAG (NTV-KIT175). I just spoke with their tech support and was told it will fit 2007 and later years. Their telephone number is (561) 955-9770.
The units are made by Korean company called Q-DIS. Here is the link: QDIS
QDIS will tell you NAV TV is the distributor. Many guys have done this on the XK forum.
See this post for details. Again, the focus is on the reverse camera but it goes through the GVIF converter box on the XK's. And you still must connect through the Navigation screen for the back up camera to work.
Nav TV has said theirs is plug and play but when you talk to the right guys, they'll tell you you have to turn on the Nav screen.
You might want to move this over to the X150 forum so not to confuse anyone in the X350 forum as the XK solution we're talking about is unrelated to the title of this thread.
See post 49 on this read:

Trust me, an XK is definitely in my future when the right one comes along. But I'm torn between a coupe or convertible, and there's no way my wife will let me have one of each!

If where you live has more bad weather days than pretty days get the hard top.
If you are not going to even pull it out of the garage unless it is dry, warm, and pretty outside then get the convertible.
With the convertible top up, the car just squeaks alot making it not seem like a solid car. Take that top down and it is an experience you will never get from the hard top.
I love my convertible but don't like it with the top up. Really has more to do with your climate.
Hope this helps!

I love the lines of the coupe but that being said our interest was for a fun open air cruiser. Something to take for a ride when ever it was a top down day. Although we live in the north east part of the US we usually get a 3 1/2 season so we drive from April to december. I've only had 3 convertibles and 1 T-Top car in my life so this being my last fun car it had to be a convert. I got my 2012 with 6666 miles on it and I found it to be the quietest convertible and as quiet as any coupe or hard top car. The double liner top is great. So drive them both and pick the one you want to park in your garage.

Let me help... If you are going to drive it in bad weather ie. (cold weather, rain, etc....) get the hard top.

Also, I've never experienced ANY squeaking or rattling from the top, under any circumstances. Rock solid and has given me zero problems. I also think theJagWrangler's remote top is uber-cool.
ALSO, I'm not a fan of the shape of the coupe's roof line, I think it looks like a 1965 Barracuda, all slopish and weird looking. I think the Convertible roof line is MUCH better, even if it were a hard top. My opinion, so there ya go.

btw no air ride to deal with, though I miss the comfort, I don't miss the pia. Still a smoother ride than most cars.
Also, same valley hose risk with the XKR as the SC x350 but a bit less work to R&R the SC on the XKR, and for some reason, not as common. I think that may be due to the # of XK's sold vs. the X350 SC though.
Look for the dash leather to be in place. Do a search here, there are a few threads with pics and you can see what happens.
