Hi XKR owners . I just become proud owner of a 2008 XKR Coupe'. I decided to take it on roadtrip to the west coast of Cape Town in South Africa.. enroute approx 3 hours into the trip, the steering and handling suddendly wasn't great . I pulled over immediately and found a flat on the right front.. I put on the spare tyre and drove to my destination crawling along at 80kmph. Embarresing beyond believe as the kia picanto drivers overtook and waved in glee.. This morning I took the car to a tyre repair workshop ..there was no apparent nail.and I hadn't driven over any obstacles on road to cause the flat.. the mechanic noticed that the rim had a bad crack and this is where it must have been leaking air .. why only after 3 hours of driving? I have arranged aluminium welding to both rims on Monday morning . We checked the other front rim and saw a crack there too! Seems as if previous owner ignored it and rather than navigating around ZAR potholes, went through them. I now need to order 2 new tyres. As they don't stock these tyres in the remote Westcoast fishing village... HERES THE REASON FOR THE LENGTHY POST... the current front tyres are Bridgestone 255/35R20.. a XKR OWNER and friend suggest I rather install 255/45R20.. which has a higher profile and far more conducive to our rough road conditions...million dollar Question .. will there be any problems with my car's computer with the higher 255/45R20 profile tyre? Correction 255/xxR20 not R225/xxR20 Appreciate any helpfull feedback
