Another question: I have found the hole where the duckbill is located. But I can't feel it at all!
I have fairly short fingers, but isn't it supposed to stick out from that hole?

On the attached drawing, which is the actual positioning of the thing? A or B?

Thanks!

‘B’ is something like it. The duckbill is up inside the hole you find above the tranny.

Just to clear any potential confusion: the black "L's" (and inverted L's) in the drawing all represent the sides of the hole where the duckbill is located. The inverted L on the left of A & B is not the transmission.
The bottom of the picture therefore corresponds to the direction of the bottom of the car.

So taking this into account, is it still the B configuration?

Yes.

However, in the last pic of this pdf it definitely looks like configuration "B", with the tip being horizontal and pointing forwards : https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/a...ion-ac-fix.pdf

Can it be different from one model to the other?

It appears to be more of a 45-degree angle than perpendicular. So, more between the two diagrams.

this has been a nightmare for me, good luck to you, for most people it is as easy as replacing the resistor or fan, I have put them in and out multiple times on my xk trying to test why its still not working, so it shouldn't be that bad to do it once, the glove box is easy to remove, just unplug all the connectors, and then the actual motor and resistor is 2 screws for resistor and 3 screws for fan, no dash removal for this.
