All this tire talk , how about OEM wear
#21
I've been waiting for the Michelin PSS's for 6 mts. now to replace the PSS's on my XKR. The front 255/35/20 are available but the rear 285/30/20 have been on back order since Jan. I contacted Michelin and Tire Rack and there is no production date for the rear tires and Tire Rack said that they believed that that size was discontinued.

No, the Michelin Pilot Super Sport is the best one. I really liked them. But it seems that the 285/30/20 was only used on Ferrari's and Jaguar's and my understanding is that Michelin decided that there was not enough demand to keep producing that size. The second best tire according to tests (not regarding price) seems to be the Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position which is available.

I currently have P-Zeros (no idea what year). I will be trying MPSS when I replace my rear tyres. I'll also be trying 305/30 rather than the standard 295/30 - my car runs on Vortex rims, same dimensions as the Vulcans on the R-S, and I know the 305s fit them without fouling.
