It goes to show you that Germans dont have a clue when it comes to style and practicality. (sorry Germans you must accept this!) And its a much larger problem than we realize.
We only started using fine burls as a way of decorating a wasted space which the eye stares at. Not unlike hanging art on walls. The art we chose for cars was the one nature creates coupled with the human craftsmanship of varnish and polish.
How does that translate to using the cheapest wood flooring- bamboo to ornate an interior. Its a wood that has no texture nor pattern- its not even wood- its a grass. But it gets dumber than that- because its not a hardwood, nothing cracks like bamboo when subjected to humidity swings like in the interior of a car.
I bet the first aluminum veneer interior on a luxury was a German idea.
