Well, it seems the convertible rear window bug bit me too. A couple months ago I noticed the bottom right side of my rear glass had separated, as well as, the left side bottom corner. So, with the tools and sage advice of many of those who have since tackled this project before, I tackled mine. In doing so, I followed the path of others in acquiring the tools to accomplish the project.
Ok, so I glued the areas totally separated using Rhino glue. That stuff is tenacious!
Here's my question......I have a section along the bottom left side that is just starting to separate. That is, the edge next to the glass is lifting, but, not yet totally.
So, what do I do? Wait until its totally separated and make the repair, or, add glue to beneath the area lifting and clamp close? I'm struggling with what might be the best practice. The strip of tape with no clamps is the subject area that has not yet separated.
Any thoughts for those who have been here, done this? Now, reading for a 24 hr. bake Clamping has begun

I would finish the repair along the bottom edge now, before the canvas shrinks. You can use a small razor knife to separate that left section so you can re-glue it. Eventually, all of the original adhesive will fail, so you might want to re-glue everything.

Thanks Stewart, it was your inspiration and comments that led me to use the Rhino. It is awesome stuff. Ok, so you think it a good idea to squeeze a little into the cavity of that area that is not yet separated? In my "heart of hearts" that's my initial thoughts too. I think, if anything, it'll keep the "weather" from interceding.......?
Thanks for chiming in, I appreciate it.
Ken,
I'd remove as much of the old glue as possible before using the Rhino Glue. All of the old glue is already 12 years old and if it isn't removed it is doomed to fail. Even if the window isn't separated where the old glue is it will probably leak when it rains unless there's a good bead of Rhino Glue.
