Any suggestions on repairing protective film at front end
New member here - recently purchased 2010 XKR - love the car - there is a small scratch in the front end protective plastic drivers side - is there any way to repair this? If not, where is the best place to replace. Thanks!
protective film damaged
Wrong forum but, regardless, there are bunches of places that do bumper repairs worse than yours. The guy I use even comes to the house to refinish the bumper. Usually costs a couple hundred bucks.

I don't think you can fix it, you have to peel the old film and re-apply new one.
Agreed. Not sure how they'd repair the film. You could cut around it with an Excato, making sure not to score the paint. Re-applying film to just the bump would probably be about $300-500?
A small job for any car body work place , i got the full bumper re sprayed on mine about 6mth back it involved them taking front end off car stripping all back sanding , priming base coat then lacquer then polishing and refitting for the grand sum of £375
I have had clear bra bumper covers applied to every car I've owned for the last few decades. There are no short cuts to your repair. The old clear bra must be removed carefully, however, if there is paint damage under that particular location, the entire bumper will need to be repainted and a new clear bra installed. For a proper job, the front bumper should be removed, repainted, baked and then after a few days have the clear bra installed.
Different world here Georgie. Ins is twice as smart as the casinos where there are no refunds.
Casino actually has to provide lavish entertainment, drinks and palatial environment even if you are only spending $10.

Even Google Translate doesn't help me with that one.

We use boilers back home to heat radiators.
George says a repair call for them is a reoccurring jackpot. And frozen pipes.
On the subject at hand. The problem with old PPF is that its really on there. You cant just cut a section out by simply lifting it.
I would put some other intentional adornment on it, like a sticker.
You're look at close to 1K to repaint the bump and re-film. Many fancy cars are doing the the whole front half of the car to doors, but I think that's a little excessive.

The most important factor with any film install is the installer! There are so many out there.....so selecting the most experienced, reputable, meticulous with a proven track record is key to a good job. Of course the materials are important as well, but a reputable shop will most likely only use the quality products. I believe I have a Suntek on my Jaguar. No complaints. My clear bra installs were never cheap.....but the workmanship was superb.
