Anyone experience with an OBD-dongel in combination with an app
Hello,
Our carorganisation in the Netherlands offers a connected system that works with an OBD-dongel and an app on the smartphone. You get f.a. information about your driving style, location of the car, parking time, driven mileage etc. Does anyone in this forum have some experience with a system like this?

I have a sore throat, was having trouble with those words. Sorry.
Anyway, is there something that I'm missing? Does it do other stuff that'd be useful?
The bluetooth dongle/phone app stuff I use (other people also) are like the Torque App, which is the real-time parameters such as revs, temps, vacuum, boost, mph, and all the useful stuff as well as reading and resetting trouble codes and calculating performance metrics such as 0-60, top speed, lap times and the like.

You should get some cough medicine But just in case you didn't know CAPITALS in online messages is the way to shout. My question was just a ment to find out if there'r other simulair systems/dongles that can give me the same information (in an app), f.e. the information I mentioned; just that. So thx for the information about the Torgue app. I will see if that will be interesting for me.

Maybe he wants that information for when someone else is driving his car? Or checking where his wife/GF is going?
Regardless, I think he came here to see if others were familiar with an App like that... I don't think he came here to be questioned on why?
Just a thought,
Dave

It sounds like the dongle being used in the US by some of the insurance companies. I know that Progressive Ins. Co. has them as a measure of how you drive in order to reduce your insurance premium cost. It's pretty much of a tracking device with ability to measure your speed and braking . Seems to invasive to me but if it is only monitored by yourself then no one else would know how you drive.
To the OP's question, I did a search here in the US and most of the apps I was able to find are commercial fleet vehicles. There are a couple for personal use but I Don't know if they're available in your country.

Thx for all the reactions. My point was indeed to find out if anyone at the forum is familiair and has experience with a system as mentioned. The system in the Netherlands is also a commercial issue from the overall carorganisation. I looked at Torque and that is indeed a familiair system. Perhaps Ill try the offered system for a year and then make my choise.
Thx
