Anyone upgraded to larger intake tubes on dual setup of XKR?

Right?! It's the same bay and you can see where they installed a larger aluminum expansion tank in place of the A/C intake. Very tempted to do this mod...

If you running a stock supercharger. The factory intake flows decently. Certainly there's always areas to improve. The main restriction in the system is the throttle and throttle elbow. I've tested vacuum readings at the throttle plenum at WOT and didn't see any significant restrictions but that was before exhaust upgrades etc. I have everything plumbed into a custom DAQ still and can get more info if desired.
Waiting to finalize mine in carbon for a one off set but I put it on hold while I work on engine cover carbon and headers.

what were your vacuum readings if you dont mind?
Does my reading of 20 inches on one side make sense?

Is the drop done via motor mounts or is there a lot more to it? I am looking for a car that I can road race against the clock and then enjoy after I am done racing it and an XKR looks really darn interesting to me. I am trying to read and understand as much as I can before the spring when I will begin the hunt for the "ultimate car".
My other option is a Vette, but I've done that already and have always wanted a Jag.

How should I put this, I am not looking for a dead shot race car but I would like to learn how to drive the car to its ability and the best place is the track against a clock. I turn 65 this year and know my reflexes are not what they once were so no wheel to wheel for me.
A guy i used to work with has an Elise he races, but after the races it sits in the garage. A Jag seems to be the perfect blend of race heritage and ultimate road car. Am i wrong? i realize i could much more easily start with a Corvette, but then i end up with "just" another 'vette.

Coach56,
The XKR is a darned fine GT car. I'm 67 and my reflexes are most definitely compromised, and I've taken my XKR dozens of times over the past 7 years to the track. It's too big and heavy to be an extremely fast track car, but you can sure have a lot of fun with it on the track if you don't exceed your own capabilities and expect more from a 4000lb,, long wheelbased car than are possible. And the rest of the week you'll have a supremely comfortable, luxurious car to drive everyday. When I bought my XKR seven years ago, it caused me to stop driving my Pantera. The XKR was quicker, I didn't have to wrestle the steering wheel (no power steering on the Pantera), I didn't have to drive barefooted (no room for my big shoes in the Pantera), the XKR was easier to drive more quickly around a track, all the while running the A/C and sitting comfortably. Expect a fun track car but not a race car and you'll be fine.
