Haven't been on in a while which means so far so good with my XKR. Hope the same is true for you other old timers on here.

Anyway, I thought I'd share something that got me pretty excited when I saw it on one of the Facebook XK pages this morning. I've been wanting to add Apple Car Play for a while now but didn't like the thought of altering the original display or functionality of the steering wheel controls. So I was instantly intrigued when I saw the following intro and installation videos from an outfit called Mr. 12Volt:



I've gone ahead and ordered one on pure faith and will report back when I have it installed but was wondering if anyone on here has already fit one.

 

Absolutely let us know what transpires once you get and install that thing.

 

Very interesting - man what a strip down in the second vid - I was expecting the windshield to come out next.

Looks like he's installing with power on - engine light illuminated and red light in top left of pic.

 

With all the problems experienced with the Tesla modification this may be an an easier solution. I'm following this thread...

I'll be installing one too and comparing it to Old Jaguar's kit though I can tell right now it's more involved.

 

What's that unit under the seat he bypassed - does the XKR have that too Sean. That looked like a horn for the sub-woofer - though I'm guessing.
