Default Aston vantage owners

I've noticed as of late there has been a fair bit mentioning of the Aston vantage V8 (ajv8 variety) .

Has anyone actually owned on this forum. I've always wanted one however I only own the one vehicle and use it as a daily
and yes I do infact make use of the rear seats that is for my kids .

Yes. I owned a 2011 Vantage V8 Manual that was pretty well optioned. Had Velocity AP decats installed.

Well, if you do, "in fact" make use of the rear seats for your kids, I guess you'll be giving up your kids when you purchase the Vantage; NO REAR SEATS!

I'm a bit surprised there isn't more mention of the DB11 in some of these AM discussions. To me, Vantage = sports car and DB11 and XK = grand tourer. Is it the price difference? Or is there something wrong with the DB11?

Beautiful car in the perfect color combination.
I would eventually like to acquire an F-Type with that blue/caramel color combination.

DB11 and XK were not contemporaries. DB9 would be a more apt comp. DB11 came out after XK production ended and ushered in an updated design language.

If I can't find a decent Vanquish at a good price when the time comes, I may settle for a DB11 instead. Yeah, "settle".
That is, of course, if there isn't a good Jag XK replacement by that time.

If you're looking at a Vanquish, I'd go for a DB9 GT instead over the DB11. DB9 GT is quite close to the Vanquish outside of the steel/fiberglass construction and retains the NA 6.0 V12 in its final iteration. Can get it with the same updated center console too. Probably the best buy for a later model Aston is DB9 GT. Vanquish is quite a deal too, but one hit in the car and it's totaled if there's real CF repairs needed.

Man, I don't know about that. Sure, it's a LOT cheaper and such, but then it's even older than my XKR. I don't really want to backtrack or even stay on par, I'd want to upgrade. Vanquishes are a tad older design and the tech is older than a DB11, but they are still quite pricey. DB11s are newer tech and still look good, but they aren't a Vanquish.
I will have lots to consider in the next couple years.

Local AM dealer has a '14 Vanquish 38K miles for 109K

https://www.astonmartin-lotus.com/as...vanquish-coupe

'14 DB9 4k miles for 94K

https://www.astonmartin-lotus.com/as...in-db9-coupe-2

Either would be cool by me!

CeeJay this could be your lucky day. I am familiar with the Aston folks at Greenwich Motors in CT, and they made an offer on a quite nice and new 2019 Vanquish S of $100K discount, and that 100K will fetch a few
bottles of DRC to share with your other leisure class homies! An oil service on the 12 will set you back 1.5 - 2K, which would get you 2 or 3 standard-issue bottles of Screaming Eagle Cabernet. Life is good at the top!

Is this a car you are looking to buy or already own? What year? Looks like an '08?

Your spot on !! It's a 08

I don't own
but are having serious thoughts about the purchase of it the main issue holding me back is I only have the one vehicle which I do use to carry the kids around.

If I purchased the vantage I'd have to get another car as well like a cheap run around.

If the kids on are on the younger side, why not a DB9? I would go for a 4.7 Vantage, the newer the better if possible. Each year just got better and better on the Vantage. More things that were options became standard.

DB9 is similar proportions to the xk for me I love the compact size of the vantage and more importantly a car that handles better then the xk as I find it quite noise heavily more GT then sports car if you will .

In regards to the 4.7 your absolutely correct I'm pretty sure I'd be wanting more hp almost immediately from the 4.3 .
