AUX input with Bluetooth for X150, you don't need an ACM
#41
I finished a batch of these last night, so they are ready to sell / ship now.
I spent an hour or so testing one out in my XKR this morning, whe sound quality is amazing, very clean, high quality.
In my car with the B&W system you have the Dolby Surround function via AUX (I presume it will be the same on the Alpine system).
Really surprised me how good it sounds!
To answer some questions raised;
- It does not give you any control over the phone, just audio from the phone into the AUX input.
- It does not automatically connect each time you get in the car, you have to go to the bluetooth settings in the phone and connect.
- The phone will actually stay connected to the adaptor once you've locked the car, the phone will keep "playing" you need to stop it yourself. It's not until the car goes to sleep that the power to the radio is disconnected and the BT receiver shuts down.
- There is no whine or noise, with the music paused on the phone and the volume cranked up can't hear anything, also with engine running, driving around, etc
- No change to the FM reception as far as I can tell, seems to be the same as before.
I've put these up on eBay now, https://www.ebay.com/itm/293110516430

I have just got a 2007 XFR and trying to add AUX into it. I wonder which are the 3pins used from the socket for AUX (Left/Right/Ground)? I am trying to figure it out from the pictures but I cannot. I hope someone can provide some more detailed info here. Much appreciate it.
You can use google translate and I was able to figure it out

Hi you buying 3 pins ref : MX-19420-0001 and you buying bluetooth module or audio cable.
On the output audio you connect the 3 pins and you connect the pins to the grey connector rear the radio :
After or before, you can active AUX AUDIO with SDD.

Well it's been a bit over a year since I had that moment of clarity, realised the solution, and started this thread.
In that time i've put together about 120 of these bluetooth adaptors, and it's a nice warm & fuzzy feeling to know that there are 120 fellow XK owners (actually more than that) who are enjoying music in their cars because of my tinkering.
It's been interesting to see the different responses, i've had so many messages thanking me for coming up with this solution. Overall people have been happy with what they got, relieved that there was a simple answer to the problem.
Some people in far-flung parts of the world have paid crazy money for shipping, more on shipping than what the device costs itself.
And then there are some people who thought it's "too expensive"...
The kind of people that think that every idea should be free, so after figuring out the wiring changes, they post it everywhere they can to "share the discovery".
But not before asking me for help how to turn on the AUX. That was an especially nice touch comrade....
And then there are these kind of people... who can't help but cash in on everything...
But that's par for the course with this fellow.... check my signature LOL
Anyhow, these are still available, if you're in the US get in touch with The Jag Wrangler, if you're elsewhere in the world drop me a line.
Cheers.

I did this for "free" or cheap using the instructions on XKR2007.com. However, it did take a month for the cable to come from china, it was a royal pain getting the pins out, I ended up just clipping them and using wire nuts (much, much easier, don't waste your time punching pins if you don't have to.
So it took me about an hour or two and working with the plastic clip wasn't fun at all. So unless you want to use wire nuts like I had to figure out, then it's probably worth it getting the pre-made cable. I like messing around with car projects but if you don't, then it's not worth your time.
Getting SDD was the most expensive part but with 4 Jaguars in the family it's pretty nice to have anyway.

Hi guys i'm surprise by yours responses !!
I think that a forum is a place of exchange not for the business.
If I created the xkr2007.com site it is to share my knowledge (for free)
I can pay for an interesting product but for this device I think it is too expensive for a Chinese product which is just modified.
But I have a deep respect for what you do (Cambo)
I took the information from the auxiliary inputs on an XF connector on this forum.
it is not necessary to remove the pins you cut the 3 wires and you solder the audio on them (silverstonex24).
Here CONNECTOR VOLVO
Have a good day.

So then post a link to them. If they can be bought ready to plug straight into a Jaguar, that would make life easier for everyone.

It's too expensive for you to buy, but you are happy to sell it for that price? You certainly have some interesting ideas....
