Backup Camera new option

Yes, the license plate frame can be charged using the included USB power cord. I don't know for sure, but I wouldn't leave the USB charger plugged in after the battery is fully charged, as it might damage that rechargeable battery. My XKR is not my daily driver and is covered in my garage and I haven't had any problems with the license frame battery after I initially charged it up when I installed it.
The camera operates at 2.4GHz, so you're probably right, although there might be different frequencies for pairing the frame with the display. You can contact the manufacturer and see if it's possible to use 2 cams, front and rear. Obviously, there's no problem for the newer models with the OEM backup camera that is integrated into the touchscreen.
Here's the link to the Owner's Manual in .pdf format. It should answer most, if not all, of your questions.

I’ll go the ‘hard wired’ route with the XK, as I already have a GVIF to connect to.

I don't have a Costco close to me, so no account. But decided this morning to check and find that they now have this camera listed on-line. No indication of in-store inventory.

Please don't buy them out until I can get a friend to get mine next week

called the company
1. the TypeS wireless BU camera only allows one camera input, not dual cameras front and back.
2. The chap who answered said look for other companies that offer dual cameras, but I could not find any similar to this unit on Amazon nor Ebay.

TadiBrothers
So I found a company that makes a dual wireless camera LCD display, which toggles between the 2 cameras.
Called the company, and a knowledgeable and pleasant person gave me the parts to configure the LCD for 2 camera; backup and front cameras, which are not the same camera as configured as the backup is higher resolution, receiver/transmitters, LCD monitor (5"). Around $350-400+. In addition, each camera needs 12V power as it is not battery or solar operated.
some SKUs are (put in 'Find' box)
54236
93097
76826
19408
He wanted me to purchase right then, but not obnoxiously. Well, that is too fast for me, being **** about these things.
Has anyone heard of this company?

One warning: please be patient when you receive your setup and plug in and charge the frame battery for a full 6-8 hours before mounting. If not, it will drop the pairing with the display screen pretty consistently and create the sense that the product is defective. I know this now ...

You must have a lot of little kids in your car if you need that many mirrors and cameras to keep an eye on them! How many rows high do you stack them so they all fit in the back seat?
Seriously, this backup cam display fits in the ashtray and is inobtrusive. See the photo in my Post #11, above.

Shamefully, I havent had time to even start my car since I last posted.
One has to realize this is the same as taking a cell phone in the car, and replacing the license frame, which also did not come from Jaguar.
And why you can make it a front view camera in under a minute.
This system adds absolutely nothing to the car- not even a hole, not a screw.
Its ingenious compared to what others are doing.
All of them have many more components and crucially, none of them have solved where to put the display. Since every inch of real estate inside a car is spoken for.
As luck would have it, unless you are a die hard smoker who never empties his ashtray, its as if Jaguar made a spot for this display and only this display.
I can see why there is a massive enterprise of folks reselling Costco, Ikea and Trader Joe merchandise, the bloody bureaucracy an these giants is mind-numbing: They refused to sell me one, when they had plenty in stock, just because for some reason they decided they were not going to sell it in the stores, all while I was holding one in my hand that Stuart had reserved a day earlier. So I have had to get one from across the country, despite being the one to post the pic of a shelf full of them. But on the brighter side, the aggravation does help take the edge off the guilt when returning it...after it goes obsolete.
