Default Battery Disconnected, No Key, How to Open trunk RESOLVED

Ok .. here is my first post other than my introduction ....

So, I disconnected the battery (2007 XKR Coupe) , closed the trunk to go in the house and now I can't get the trunk to open. I just purchased the car and it only came with the FOB. The previous owner lost the physical key. Is there a way to open the trunk so I can put in a new battery?

MAYBE remove the back of the rear seat on the drivers side. With a flashlight you may see the white plastic handle hanging down near the trunk door.
With a two finger like hook on a stick, pull the plastic handle .
For the key the dealer told me they order it from England. They will ship it cut, directly to you. Around $100 USD.

Isn't there a jump post (with a rubber cover) under the rear left side of the car? Use that to connect a spare battery or a charger.

looks like this forum doesn't save searches so you can link to them, damn. Here's some of the threads I mean:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-trunk-191555/
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...n-trunk-87388/

All found simply by searching "xkr battery trunk"

Resolved ....

I took the back seat out to see if I could reach the latch to release the trunk. I noticed there was a connection to the battery. So I connected my GB40 to the terminal and the lights came on! I hit the trunk switch and "Holy Jaguar Batman the trunk opened .

Thanks for all of the suggestions Jag Fam! I am feeling Jagaliscous right about now

Very few locksmiths can cut the trunk key. Go to them and avoid the service call charge, to find out he can't do it.
The dealer will have it cut and mailed to you...
