Bentley GT

I am scared of the W12 or V since they are VW-Audi sourced. Can be a good thing too as you can service them at Audi independent shops. Go for a Muliner package, worth it on any Bentley model.
I am hot for a Bentley too, but I want an Arnage. Great value on the 2nd hand market IMO. I have to wait until our Volvo lease expires...
I saw this 2006 Arnage for 55K

A few weeks ago saw a showroom condition 2009 Merc S63 for $39K! That was @$225K new. one owner, perfect condition on eBay. THAT would be something I'd grab fast when my bank account has a few more zero's. Sorry no experience on Bentleys though I'd have to imagine that being VW owned aside from it maybe having questionable emissions that the quality has probably increased considerably. VW does an excellent job on doing things pretty well, Bentley did not have that reputation prior to being bought

My boss has one (Bentley GT). He also has a 12 Cyl Aston-Martin that's very similar to the XKR. He prefers the Bentley and drives it most of the time, though he's really not a "sport" driver. Why does he drive the Bentley most of the time? He says he likes the ride. I think equally important but not mentioned is that he's gained quite a few pounds and the Bentley is easier to get in and out of and has wider seats.

Having driven V8s and W12 Bentley a number of times I prefer the Jag over the 12 cylinder but the V8 Bentley over the Jag. Just hate the image of the Bentley. In the UK it's associated with all that's wrong with poor taste and excess.
As has been said the Bentley will make you openly weep when it goes wrong. As my friend always says "any fool can buy an expensive car, but only a rich fool can afford to run one". He is probably right.

GT or Flying Spur for me come down to the color combo and options. Some look fantastic, some dull, others just tacky & juvenile.
Flying Spur looks better executed than the GT, IMO.

When I was younger Bentley's and RR's carried with them a high level of respect and were thought to be owned by people of great wealth and status, now I believe that has been replaced with arrogance, younger "nouveau riche" buyers wanting respect not earning it (like rap or sports stars or investment bankers). The new body styles do VERY little for me regardless of what their performance looks like on paper. Perhaps a Maybach might carry that type of exclusiveness but not Bentleys here in S.Cal. Like when Hummers became the cool car for token wives to have only for the sole purpose that others couldn't afford them nor would they want to... conspicuous consumption here. Maybe in Australia or England it is quite different, here they are not thought of highly nor are they exclusive as you see them FAR to often.
