Cool Is it the best solution for our XKs to finally sound wonderful?

Hi everyone,
I was talking about it with the mechanics today and he droped something like " then you could get a valve"... I thought he was talking about the f19 fuse thing...and told him I already cared about it...
Then tonight i started googling and found this .
There's a lot of threads about exhausts systems here but haven't found anything about such system.
It appears as an active exhaust valve free the V8 sound as it should and the result is closer to the "out of the line" sound the XK should have had.
This really makes me want it.

Any of you experts have a word or any experience with this?

Thanks.

This epic thread:

contains a lot of fascinating stuff about exhaust modification, including valves

Thanks @justinhill , I've searched the thread and found he made a whole exhaust line...that's much more complicated, that's most of the time not complying with the french rules and that's very costy,
There's also the fact you can't 'shut it up" if needed.

Did you know about such "add-on" as these valves on the OEM exhaust line? Any advice about it?

@Tiepolo I did know about such things, yes. But the XKR already has exhaust valves - opening the outer pair of tailpipes under acceleration. I confess I haven't been bothered about the sound of my car. It's just not that important...

You can always just hack off the part of the exhaust pipe directly after the OEM valves. That'd do the same thing as adding the cut-outs.

Well, thanks.
It appears that solution of the "cut out valves" (if i'm correct about how you call them) is not appreciated in the US... I continued my research and found most of the videos with such systems are from European users.
You should know that over here taking off the silencer (resonator) or putting bigger cats is NOT allowed at all..I doubt cutting the exhaust line after the OEM valve would be legal neither.
So you can still change the whole line (i've hear a mina and liked it ) but the cost is 10 time the one of cut out valves...and I'm almost sure you can't even pass the biennial technical control with it...
That's why I thought such system is great...
Don't you think it sound great?

As it is today I can enjoy the V8 sound only when I burn fuel pushing the pedal while climbing a hill.. that's frustrating...and costy (fuel is around 8,45$/Gal these days in France).
I don't want something too loud or agressive, neither something "pimp my car" style.. But i love the F type sound for example...
If there's other options ...

I did this years ago on my 2007 Charger RT. It had factory mufflers and then additional factory silencers at the very back to limit the drone on the 5.7L. I installed Flowmaster mufflers, and electronic cutouts just in front of the rear silencers and they were activated by a button I added on the dash. Worked wonderfully and made the car sound as it should. Then could go quite on the highway with no drone. It was a great solution. They lasted about 70,000 miles before one of them locked up and I had to replace them. I think it cost about $500 back then for the cutouts and installation. Only real downside I would see now is having to drill a hole in the dash to mount the button.

Cheers

Some even use the HomeLink buttons above the windscreen.

That's a clever idea! thanks @ceejay .
But weirdly, I don't have these buttons on mine... (Do you know I could add these by just shifting my windscreen plate for one with homelink ?)

I've done so on several vehicles. HomeLink parts are single dedicated units that only need 12vdc to operate correctly. I've usually dealt with the ones on the driver side sun visor. Super easy swaps.

Or repurpose the ASL button.

Someone tried using the ASL several years ago and discovered it isn't just a 'switch', but integrated into the system.
