if youve got the room to store id be holding onto a set you never know when you wil need a full size wheel, perhaps somewhere down the track you wish to have them refurbed or damage (buckle) a wheel, get a flat etc etc ..id be holding onto a spare set for sure

So the only kind of wheels an XK should have is black, chrome/silver or whatever color the window trim is?

The black Kalimnos wheels look great in my eyes. The silver bolt thingies add some contrast so you don't get the full murdered-out look - painted calipers also help out with contrast as well.

We are talking about personal opinions here so if it was my XK (or any other car), yes. When designing a colour palette I like to choose a primary colour that accounts for about 60% of the colour, a secondary colour that's somewhere around 20-30%, and a highlight colour that makes up the remainder... On my car that's dark grey as the primary, black as the secondary, and red as the highlight (calipers and front grille badge). Concentrating all of the secondary colour in one spot looks out of place to me, so I like to have it in a few places. I apply these principles to things like logo design and paint palettes, but the more I think about it the more I realise this preference applies to cars too.

You'll notice all of this talks about "to me" and "in my opinion." On your XK? Couldn't care less 🤷
