I'm all for choice, and the Jaguar designers don't get everything right, but they're pros and they penned a spectacular car. The wheels they offer fit the character of the XK series, which is a classic GT. After-market wheels tend to "tart them up" a bit, which is like making a gorgeous woman in evening dress wear red leather boots. Yeah red leather boots are super hot, but.....

Then again, I'm not in my 30's anymore!

Your thinking is as archaic as the caveman.
Just cause someone does of feels differently than doesn't their way wrong or tarted up. No, not every aftermarket wheel design will work on the XK but there are many designs that will enhance the car.

You're absolutely right about the wheels Jaguar creates for their cars. They actually spend money on designing the wheels to accent the car in a certain way.

While I am positive you already know this, let me also add that some aftermarket wheels add a bit more flair, or aggressiveness, or sport, or whatever reflects more of the individual that owns the car. Not every aftermarket wheel will be liked by everyone or be suited for the likes of the XK/R (in my opinion).

I (personally) am *extremely* particular about wheels and have only ever seen a handful of aftermarket wheels I care for on *any* car. It turns out that most everything I like comes with an expensive price tag...just seems to work out that way.

Wheels are very subjective...
