Default Bluetooth

I'm trying to pair my iPhone with a 08 XKR, I hit phone and. it states "No Phone Found" Would You Like To Search For Phone. I hit Yes and nothing happens. All this time my phone is in discovery mode. Once my phone stated that it was connected to MCC9-1032-BLK? I have no clue what MCC9-1032-BLK could be.

After reading the BT threads it appears that it is asking too much for a 08 XKR to connect to a 2017 phone. What workaround are available besides using a transmitter that plugs into the lighter?

I have no problems pairing my 2017 Smartphone to my 2009 XKR for phone calls. That's probably because it's an Android - a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S8. You know that BT doesn't work for music unless you use an aftermarket adapter.

Are you sure that you deleted (unpaired) every BT device from your 2008 XKR? Which model iPhone are you trying to pair?

Will any other phones pair with your XKR? If not, you might have a bad BT module.

Is the engine running while you're trying to pair your iPhone? If so, that could be your problem. Did you read this thread?

I neglected to say that it is an iPhone 8 and no the car was not running when attempting to pair, will try with an android phone tomorrow.
Thanks for the feedback.

I went down this road and chased all kinds of things but in the end it was the module in the trunk.

Here is what I would do:
-Turn ignition on
-Set phone to discover
-Attempt to sync from car
-Look at your phone to see if "Jaguar" shows up to pair
If you do not see Jaguar on your phone, then I would try and pair another phone and see if your phone finds Jaguar. If not, you either have a bad BT antenna or a bad module. Antenna is behind the back seat, on the inboard side of the firewall. It is a square plastic box low on the wall. Looks like a Ghiradelli chocolate square with a pair of wires coming out and terminating below the fuse box. You can swap that out if you like (I did, $25 to my door for a working used one...in fact, I now have a spare you can have it if you cover shipping - assuming you need it.) If that isn't the issue then move onto the module in the trunk. There is an updated model (9w83 10F893). But before you buy a new module, pull the connectors and spray them with some electronics cleaner...in case you have a connection issue.

Hope this helps you. Am happy to hop on the phone and chat too if you like.

Thanks for the feedback.
I used to use my iPhone 8 Plus with my 07 XKR with no issues so yours should work with an '08.

Default Bt control module

I have a 2007 xk that had the same issue.
after a LOT of attempted work arounds I bought a replacement blue tooth control module.
It sits in the little rack with the navigation dvd in the trunk.
popped it in and voila, phone connected right up.

Yus,

I never said that I use my Galaxy S8 to play music via Bluetooth on my 2009 XKR. I use an old iPod Nano 5th Generation as a dedicated music player for my music library. It's connected to the iPod connector in the center armrest that was standard equipment beginning with the 2009 4.2L models, and works with the steering wheel controls and the touchscreen. Here's what I did:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...nano-6g-50122/

You can play music from your Smartphone with a Bovee 1000 adapter, but the steering wheel controls won't work. See:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...1000-a-244819/

I prefer the iPod Nano 5 because it is fully integrated with the steering wheel and touchscreen controls.

Stuart

I use my 256GB flash drive in the USB socket. Fully integrated with the steering wheel and touchscreen controls.

I have connected an LG V20, Samsung Galaxy J3 Emerge (cheap AF freebie phone), and both my work and personal iPhone SE 2020 model phones to the CALL ONLY bluetooth in my 07 XKR. I do recall the pairing taking FOREVER when I did; and because I like it nice and chilly inside, I had the fans on fairly strong and the microphone seemed to pick that up; so I ended up preferring to NOT use this feature of bluetooth pairing for calls; if I'm taking a call in my car, I pop in an airpod.

Despite me normally just burning CDs and using the 6 disc changer, I found I do like using media audio over bluetooth in other cars and wanted to add it to my early X150. I do NOT know when they starting integrating this feature, but earlier cars did NOT have an aux in automatically (well kind of, the radio can be configured with SDD to have it, but you need to add the hardware kit). I bought the kit here: https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-C2P16491. I have NO association with that vendor, I simply bought there and it arrived and worked. That is the part number though, C2P16491, if you want to source elsewhere!

It takes a little legwork (you're pulling the glovebox and drilling a hole and mounting a bracket; and pulling some trim to get to the back of the radio and route cables around to the armrest), a little time with SDD to enable the feature (it is NOT locked down to require engineering mode, it has a specific function to add this in, IIRC the instructions even outlined where), and then I had a 30 pin apple cable, a L&R composite audio in setup and a usb port. Notice that's not a 3.5mm male or female jack or bluetooth, you got more to add for that. But it gives you an aux source in the radio menu and the goods to take a small cable or adapter to get you to the finish line.

If you want to make this just be an audio in jack with 3.5mm, get a 3.5mm to composite audio cable on ebay/amazon/wherever for $5-10. If you want to go bluetoothing for call audio? I've tried various devices on this and my Maserati; the one I like BY FAR the most is the little Bovee 1000 Tune2Air device. Why? It just connects to the 30pin apple connector and you sync to your phone. Then you proceed to never screw with it again; I've had others that would need to be unplugged and replugged in (Im looking at you Tunai Firefly and am still bitter) periodically, and others that just died over time.

I use free Youtube for my audio so I don't get a lot of the controls and I'm cheap, but others can chime in about the factory aux kit and the bovee tune2air since I'm not the only one here with one. I paid I think $80? But I have the Maserati GT one in my GT, and the X150 specific one in my XKR and don't remember but $80 seems right. It does make a small beep chime when it receives power, which I actually don't mind and kind of like since I know its good to go; the firefly was dead quiet and id have to do more fussing before realizing it needed to be unplugged and replugged in. I know its faster to sync up with my phone than the factory bluetooth media connection in my 2011 VW Jetta TDI Sportwagen; so that's kind of nice too.

Bluetooth music has never been available from the factory for X150 models.

iPod connectivity became standard equipment, including integration with the steering wheel controls and the touchscreen, beginning with the 2009 model year (4.2L final year).

I have the same issues as the OP with my 2010 XKR with my Samsung Android phone. Will be pulling the bluetooth module this weekend, cleaning contacts to see if that helps. If not, new module looks to be in my future.

I need to start doing this. I have the Carpro BT device connected to the ipod connector that's paired to my wife's iPhone. When I drive it and pair my Android phone to it, sometimes my wife's phone won't play music when she gets back on it. It's not worth the effort to figure out why so I never use my phone anymore. I can load the flash drive with everything that's on my phone however......

Hmm, I thought the later years X150 (2014/2015) were able to stream music over BT. My son's 2014 XFRS can.

I can advance tracks with mine, just not play previous. That is on my current '10 and previous '07 X150.

Question USB music won't play in XK

Holw do you have the USB set up? What brand USB? 2.0 or higher? Is it FAT32? What bit rate? And do you have folders or everything in the root drive? I am trying to get mt 128GB Sandisk cruiser to work in my 2014 XKR but it says it is mounting the usb but it sometimes reboots the audio. and sometimes it looks ready to play but the folders are not showing and it says no playable media found. my files are 320 bit rate. THe file system is FAT32. USB 2.0 Thanks in advance for any help. I thought the manual would have some info. but no. Not even size limit. THanks Again, John

I misspoke a bit... I DID have a 256 SanDisk, but forgot I changed it to a PNY 64 in an attempt to make it boot a bit quicker, which worked!
Anyway, let me do a Drive Manager to figure out wassup...

Total Files: 13,919
Total Folders: 557
Size: 55.7GB
File System: FAT32
Bit Rate: Varies (since 14k files) Mostly 128, some 192, a few 320s I'm sure.
USB2
I have folders for each artist, all their songs in each of those. It takes quite awhile to scroll through all the artists. Going through the entire library would take forever.

Thanks for the info. That helps. Similar to what I tried. I think my 3.0 128GB drive is to big. I gave it time to load all 52GB of music, but I think is just too much for the 2014 XK audio. It tried, it looked ready to play. the play and folders buttons were no longer greyed out, but it wouldn't play anything and the folders were not showing and the whole display rebooted. I'll try a 2.0 64GB drive and see if that is better. All my MP3s are 320 bitrate I may have to reduce that also. But at least I have an idea where to start. Thanks

This is what i was trying to use, a SanDisk cruiser. It is the smallest drive I can find. It doesn't stick out in the way of using the console. My 64GB is the same.
