Bluetooth failure

My iPhone 6 was paired and working fine until recently, when the car disappeared from the phone and the 'no phone found' message appeared. After pressing the green 'find new phone' button, nothing happened. I've trawled the vehicle settings, handbook and workshop manual but can't find any way of troubleshooting the issue.
My question is, do bluetooth modules or antennae fail?
Is there any way of testing either or both?
Has anyone else had this issue?
Any guidance will be gratefully received!
Cheers, Mark

While trying to allow permissions on my phone to pair with the XKR, I realized that I had no interest in being bothered by a phone call while driving it. I promptly quit trying to pair it up, and I never miss a phone call while driving. Sure, there may be calls I don't answer, but I don't miss any of them!

- Does your iPhone pair and connect successfully with any other device, such as a computer, Bluetooth speaker, etc?
- If so, it should pair and connect with the XK unless the infotainment Bluetooth radio is not working properly.
- If you can't connect with any other Bluetooth-enabled device, it's probably your phone.
- Can you try to pair and connect another phone with Bluetooth to the car? Have a friend or your partner try with his/her phone and see if the infotainment system will pair and connect.
- If not, you may need a new Bluetooth module in the car - but see below.
- If BOTH the phone and the car pair and connect to other devices, or if the phone is good but the car is not, there may be a setting or condition in the car that needs resetting or clearing. I am out of my depth here, so others on the forum may have to advise you if this is the case. There are many members who know the electrical/CAN/MOST systems much better than I.

Hey Mark, I have the same problem with my 13 XK. It was a lesson to include all the trouble shooting becaus eit will prevent 90% of the replys. My system is cleaned out of all previous, when hitting pair it does beep but does not search. Im assuming the same problem? Have you fixed it? From what Im reading I bet the module needs to be replaced. In the last year after disconnecting battery the phone would pair, but would be lost a day or 2 later.

Hi - yes, I did get the problem solved, but only by replacing the module.
It hadn't been working for a while so I thought I'd leave it, but some time later there was a parasitic battery drain which need to be sorted; my trusted indie traced it to the bluetooth module! So I had no choice but to replace it (the car would be totally dead after a few days of not using it). I still have the old module so one day I'll see if it can be repaired - it's probably a dry joint.
It may be worth getting your car attached to a genuine Jaguar diagnostic tool (JLS) to see if it can find and reset the module. Failing that, it's a new module unfortunately.
Good luck

Everything else in the dash is fine so Im betting big its the module as well. I may get it checked out. I only drive the car with the top down and the bluetooth isnt great, so is about $300 USD worth it? Im going to stick with my ear buds and maybe one day Ill have the module looked at. Thanks for the replys!!
