Default Bluetooth music streaming in 2012 xkr??

I searched for this subject but couldn't find anything related to2012 XKR... Just received mine today and am very happy. However I've noticed the display layout is different (in a good way) from my 2011 XJL. Much quicker and a little more involved. While the bluetooth works fine on my iPhone I don't see where there is any way to stream music via bluetooth from your device to the car stereo speakers. They had this same problem with my XJL but came up with a software fix and now my iPhone streams flawlessly by bluetooth through the cars speakers without wires. Is this not available on the XKR infotainment system and if so why not? The XKR infotainment system seems like an upgrade from the XJ'S but am I wrong?? Any help will be greatly appreciate. All I see is an iPod dock and usb dock and kind of flimsy at that......

Think the only to stream the IPhone music is from the dock or USB. Don't think there is any way to Bluetooth the music from the IPhone thru the Audio display located in the dash that houses the navigation system. The Bluetooth will sync the phone, but that's all that I am aware of. The USB and dock is there to accommadate MP3 or i (Apple)-devices.

I've asked this question before too, and I don't think there is any way to stream music via bluetooth. You just have to plug into the iPod jack. What's frustrating for me, though, is that I wish there were dash or steering wheel controls to be able to skip a song when streaming. As it stands now, the only way to skip a song is to pick up the phone and do it on the phone. That's a major drag.

One other note about bluetooth: I think it's weird that some apps come through via bluetooth and others don't. For example, the voice commands on googlemaps DO come through the speakers via bluetooth.

One other thing that I've noticed is the the NAV system in the XKR is a DVD system where as on the 011 XJL is software based and if you want to update it it takes hours! My old CLS was DVD based and never had a problem. I haven't played around with the new NAV system but the one in the XJL sucks!!! Also does anyone know what the little slide open compartment inside the middle console is for? I'm still learning but this 2012 XKR beats the pants off my 2009 CLS 65!!

It's the dock for the Smart Key, in case the battery in the key dies. Once you've used the manual key to open the passenger door, docking the Smart Key deactivates the alarm and allows you to start the car.

P.s.: if you ever do this, make sure you switch the car off before removing the Smart Key from the dock.
