I've heard the other day that jag will be coming out with a smaller sedan meant to compete with the M3. They better bring their A-game.

Meh. Remember that tests show our cars do the same. XKRs are very under rated from the factory. This is the British way. Even makeup marketing has been banned when it's photo chopped.
An m3 is a step up from those who drove civics with fast cans on the 90's. That crowd is older now and farther along financially. The new German cars look too much like Hondas and kias.

Look how stupid this big ol pig is:
2014 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG First Drive – Review – Car and Driver
It's almost 2 feet longer, a foot taller and 800 pounds heavier than an XKR-S ans STILL faster from 0-60.
Another thing to really keep in mind here ya'll is that we're comparing a platform that is a half a decade (for the 5.0's) old to something that is just being released. That's the way it goes. Remember when sub 6 seconds was unheard of to 60mph and 300hp was supercar status from a V8? Nowadays you get better than 300hp in V6 mustakes ( 2013 Ford Mustang V-6 Premium Instrumented Test – Review – Car and Driver ) over 300hp and 0-60 in 5.2! Yes folks, that's faster than the E46 M3's acclaimed; at the time - 5.4 seconds. Hell, even the japanese companies are getting close to 300hp in the cars they make for their low end lines.

Right On
R-Rated ... you're a smart man. BMWs & Mercedes are both nice cars ... but they're just cars, albeit high-quality, high-performance, high-priced, etc. The Jag on the other hand, regardless of which model within XK Series, is a world class GT luxo-tourer wrapped in a sculptured skin that makes other cars look like they were designed by a 6th grade finger-painting class in Detroit. If I had a dollar for every person who's said to me, "That's the most beautiful car I've ever seen!" ... I'd be well on my way to buying a new one! Long live the Jag XK series!

I would argue that more than a handful is a waste. What are you going to do with the excess? By that I mean if the power makes you slip and slide instead of propelling the vehicle forward then how it's too much to handle.

BMW just downed the anti:
Their new FWD mini-van is a bit of a departure for them.
